About this listen

How far would you go to save the ones you love?

The first book in a stunning new crime series featuring DCI Anna Tate.

When nine children are snatched from a nursery school in South London, their distressed parents have no idea if they will ever see them again. The community in the surrounding area is in shock. How could this happen right under their noses? No one in the quiet suburban street saw anything - or at least that's what they're saying.

But DCI Anna Tate knows that nothing is impossible, and she also knows that time is quickly running out. It’s unclear if the kidnappers are desperate for money or set on revenge, but the ransom is going up by £1 million daily. And they know that one little boy in particular is fighting for his life.

It’s one of the most disturbing cases DCI Anna Tate has ever worked on - not only because nine children are being held hostage but because she’s pretty sure that someone close to them is lying....

Good author

The storyline was somewhat predictable, although the twist at the end left me wanting to find out more. If I had read this book I would have enjoyed it more as the narration was dreadful, simply the worst I have come across on Audible. There were errors throughout and the intonation/stresses/accent points were all wrong making the storyline nonsensical in places. The voices were amateurish and in places laughable with the main characters' voice being one of the worst. This is the first time in over 50 titles that I have felt this way about the narration. my advice...buy a hard copy and READ this one instead. I do want to find out what happens next and will explore if there are other titles; but if it is the same narrator I wont be listening.

weak storline, shockingly bad narration

I really got engrossed in this start to the series. The premise re the kidnapping of the children was extremely harrowing as a parent and also as a mother of a someone who works in a childcare situation. I am glad my daughter's nursery has better safeguards.

The story played out well and really enjoyed it and went straight onto the next book in the series.

Completely pulled me in
