Editor reviews
The stay-at-home-mom choir will love this affirming encouragement from the irrepressible Dr. Laura. Narrating quickly and with the clarity of a radio veteran, she sounds supremely confident in her opinions, and impatient as ever with anyone who see things differently. As she does in most of her writing, she's trying to change one of the Western world's goofier family practices - sending infants to daycare so parents can work to buy things they don't need. It's a mixed blessing to hear Dr. Laura's take on this familiar argument, which she illustrates with concise personal stories contributed by her fans. Though her intensity and sarcasm will irritate some, she knows how to shape a point of view so that it has clarity and impact.
Summary
Who are they? They are the stay-at-home moms.
These are women who know in their hearts that staying home to raise their children is the right choice for the whole family. Some do it from the outset of their marriages, while others make the difficult transition from career-driven women to homemakers. Either way, it is a choice that is incredibly rich and rewarding, not to mention challenging.
Now Dr. Laura, building on principles developed during her long career as a licensed marriage and family therapist, provides a wealth of advice and support, as well as compassion and inspiration, to women as they navigate the wonders and struggles of being stay-at-home moms.

Awesome!
I love Dr Laura and all that she stands for. I am a SAHM to 3 beautiful children for almost 8 years now, everything she says is on point. I know a few moms who would really benefit from this book. As for the one bad review I read, they stated the book has no "statistics". What kind of statistics are you looking for? Everything Dr Laura speaks about is common sense and truth. For anyone to not like this book is strange to me. But either way 5 stars all the way! I chose to listen to the audio version bc I don't really have time to sit n read so after putting the kids to bed I put head phones on and listened and loved every second. The day b4 I was losing my patience and this really helped make me see things in a new fresh light. Thank you Dr Laura, if only there was more people like you to encourage moms, the world today would be a better, safer place.

Good testimonies from stay at home moms
I very much enjoyed listening to this book. I looked forward to hearing the testimonies from stay at home moms validating the importance of this role. There aren't statistics or perspectives from stay at home dad's which would have been interesting to hear.

great
Doctor laura is straight forward, opinionated and humerous. Her voice is great to listen to- very expressive and interesting and the content is interesting and helpfull. After reading this book I am now a big dr laura fan and have listened to everything I could get my ears on. A great reminder for women who are (or want to be) full time mothers and the families that support them that what they do is important, valuble and can not be replaced!

Great book.
This book has given me the green light to quit my job and be a stay at home mom. I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom but we also like to have things we don't really need. Like Dr. Laura expresses in this book being a mom is the most important thing in this world. Raising strong ,independent, hard working, and kind kids is the best reward we can get.

Beautifully written, inspiring, intelligent, touching, and motivating! I can’t wait to listen to some of her other books. Thank you Dr. Laura!!! I lost my mom (and my way for a while) when I was 16. You are someone who helps me stay on track.
