I hadn't heard of this author before but I am so glad that I took a chance and downloaded her book. This is a beautiful story of what real life was like in the late 1800's for higher class people and the people who were their servants and friends. There was a lot of heartache for Caroline but it only made her a stronger woman. I'm not sure I could have endured life at this time in history it was not an easy time.
