About this listen

For fans of Outlander, New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands’ newest installment of the Highland Brides series brings us a sweeping tale of passion as a laird’s swim in a loch leads to the love of a lifetime.

An invigorating swim in the loch was exactly what Calan Campbell, Laird of Kilcairn, needed after defeating his enemies in battle. What he didn’t need was a thief running away with his plaid while he swam. Calan gave chase and managed to catch the lad, only the lad turned out to be a lass, and obviously a lady. Having hit her head when he’d tackled her to the ground, the woman was now unconscious and couldn’t explain how she had ended up bruised and naked in his woods. He’d have to take her back to his castle and tend her wounds to learn that.

Kidnapped and forced to wed her clan’s enemy, Allissaid MacFarlane had risked death to escape. But after a struggle over a plaid she tried to “borrow,” she awakens in a strange bed with a strange man seated in a chair beside her. Unsure if he is friend or foe, she claims not to remember her own name or how she’d come to be in the clearing. However, the more time she spends with Calan, the more she falls for this strong, honorable laird. She soon decides she can trust him with her life. . . but can she trust him with her heart?

Whilst looking for something completely different to listen to and searching under Angus King the narrator, I found a couple of books narrated by Angus in the Highland series by Lynsay Sands. I am glad that I decided to give it a go because it was thoroughly enjoyable! Decent plot featuring feuds, jealousy, murder & passion. Give it a go. There are two books narrated by Angus.
Thank you to Angus King for great narration as always and especially in some of the racier passionate scenes.

Really enjoyable

Loved every second of it like I do every single one of Lynsay Sands books.
I really liked the narrator as well, he had a true Scottish accent. I'll definitely be listening to more of him.
Can't wait for the next one. Maybe Alec's story will be next.

I enjoyed it.
Loved the reader. Great love scenes. Really loved the main couple. Laughed some and teared up a couple times. A bit slow and repetitive with some information.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and hope there are more to come, I'd like to find out who the last Buchanan brother ends up with!

Although some of the narrators have been better than others, this latest/last narrator ended on a high. The story didn't have as many twists and turns as the previous stories, but since I've listened to the whole series over the last fortnight or so, I was quite exhausted, so a slightly less intense story was quite nice.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this book and the whole series

Liked Narrator's genuine accent, pace and not too theatrical performance. Clever weaving in of rest of Series. Good balance of historical accuracy and romantic story.

Lovely genuine Scottish accent of Narrator
