Summary

I’m Not a Robot! I’m Tom!

What is that strange green mark on Tom’s leg? Why is he beginning to feel different and why are his legs starting to tingle? Could it really be that Tom is a robot?

Facing challenges is a natural part of growing up and going to school. Just like all children, Tom in this story must learn to be brave and strong.

After returning from Robot Island, the green mark on Tom’s leg is growing, and so, too, is his strength. His clothes are becoming tighter and he’s acquired amazing talents that he never had before.

What is happening to him? He’s just a little boy but he has the strength and brain power of a Robot. How can this be?

This, the second book in the series, was written by Ann Twigg. Ann wrote this story after her grandson Tom, who was obsessed by robots, asked for an exciting robot story. In this brilliantly written story for kids, Tom has to hide himself at school, before anyone notices he is changing into a robot.

Many children find themselves in similar situations at school when they are shy, frightened, or just unsure about what other children will think if they are somehow different.

This fantastic audiobook will have your child hooked from the outset.

Very imaginative

My four year old daughter enjoys this. She struggled to understand it when she first heard it a year ago, but has got really in to it recently. It's an imaginative story with lots of laughs for kids

Beware Robot Island!

Tom has been on holiday to Robot Island but whilst he was there, he had an unfortunate accident and now strange things have started to happen to him. He can throw a ball very, very far, remember every word his teacher has said to him and even read people's minds! Tom is slowly turning into a robot! An imaginative story perfect for young families.

Daughter loves this

My daughter loved this story and said she would give it 5 out of 5. It is longer than other stories we have listened to by Ann Twigg but my daughter was happy to listen for the longer time. The characters are well written and good fun. We listened to it on 1.5 speed as we found speed 1 a little too slow. My daughter would listen to this again and gave it a big thumbs up!

Sequel to Tom on Robot Island

This was our favourite narrative of Ann Twigg’s yet. We enjoyed reading the previous story, so it was nice to continue hearing about Tom’s return from holiday. Tom experiences both benefits and disadvantages to having super human powers. He is able to defend his friend but it also upsets his friend too, unintentionally. Then his power becomes too much in an ordinary school setting, especially when he begins to transforming in to a Robot.
Without spoiling the ending, it ends appropriately and my children were surprised but pleased. They loved the idea of having super strength and continued to chat about it even after the narrative had finished.

A great realistic read!
