About this listen

'Just listen,' Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel. I open my eyes wide now. I sit up as much as I can. And I listen. 'Stay,' he says.

Everybody has to make choices. Some might break you.

For 17-year-old Mia, surrounded by a wonderful family, friends and a gorgeous boyfriend, decisions seem tough, but they're all about a future full of music and love, a future that's brimming with hope.

But life can change in an instant. A cold February morning...a snowy road...and suddenly all of Mia's choices are gone.

Except one. As alone as she'll ever be, Mia must make the most difficult choice of all.

Gripping, heart-rending and ultimately life-affirming, If I Stay will make you appreciate all that you have, all that you've lost - and all that might be.

A wonderful story. Gayle Foreman is a wonderful author. It’s heart wrenching and you root for Mia wherever she decides. Her story is sad but hopeful. Will read again.

I bought this audio as lot of people had recomended it as a good follow on to the lovely bones. It's a nice listen but no where near as good as the lovely bones. It is about a girl who goes in to a coma and has to deside if she would like to come back, while in a coma she remembers things about her family and her brothers birth as well as her friends and ultimately decides if she should stay.

Sad and moving

I actually returned this book, couldn't get into it and the narrators voice and accent weren't to my personal taste. However after returning it, it remained in my library and when I had nothing else to listen to I started again. Overall it was an average storyline but there were a few "goosepimple moments". A nice book, and not offensive, but slow to start but worth the read (or listen), just not what I would usually go for.

A shaky start

I loved this book. I listened to the whole thing in a trip from Surrey to Manchester and the journey just flew by. Beautifully read and a fantastic story.
I was really drawn into the emotion of the book and found myself with tears in my eyes a few times. I would recommend this book to family and friends and if you liked this then you would also like Before I Die by Jenny Downham
