About this listen

This is a kisses only, sweet romance.

A movie star, a grump next door and a dating experiment gone awry. My brother’s best friend has always been a gorgeous thorn in my side. He’s the famous Sean O’Connell, rom-com celebrity, owner of a smile that can melt even the coldest of hearts.

My new next-door neighbor is not the man of my dreams.

He’s one of the happiest people I’ve ever met, and to be honest, it’s annoying. I don’t have to be happy or like people. I’m good, thank you very much.

But Sean thinks I need to be happy, and that means being in a relationship. He’s recruited my best friend and my brother to put the “Get Jessica A Man” plan into action.

A makeover and some speed dating were absolutely not on my social calendar. But there’s no stopping him once his minds made up.

As Sean’s sunny disposition starts to rub off on me, I feel myself falling. But for the wrong guy.

Is it possible the thorn in my side is actually the rose I’ve been longing for?

The narrative is charming P, the humour and plot is great. I enjoyed the speeddating and the various interludes with the minor characters, this is chick lit at its best.

Didn't think it was a particularly good reading though.

Loved the dual narration from Zach Young and Lexi Balter

Sean is a successful rom com actor. Because of some unneeded and unwanted publicity he finds himself returning home. Jessica is a thriller writer, as long as she remembers she has had a crush on Sean. He is also the brother of her Evelyn her best friend. At a speed date Sean starts to see Jessica in new light.
Loved how Jessica is the grumpy and Sean is the light hearted one. You will find yourself laughing out loud, great humour and characters.

I loved the reverse grumpy/sunshine best friend's brother plot. There were many laugh out loud moments. My only disappointment is that Sean is a famous actor, living in Hollywood, while Jessie is an author living in a small town that she seems unwilling to leave... this potental roadblock to their relationship is completely ignored so the HEA isn't as fulfilling as it could have been.

I loved the dual narration. This is quickly becoming my preference for audiobooks.

Great dual narration of a reverse grump/sunshine

A delightfully charming and heartwarming love story! This romance was light, fun, and brimming with sweet, feel-good moments that kept me smiling the whole way through. The character development was beautifully done, making it easy to fall in love with the journey of these two soulmates. The narration added an extra layer of depth, bringing their emotions to life in a truly captivating way. An absolutely enjoyable listen from start to finish!
