Intriguing ending to Mischa and Ellen's story.

I am so glad that the author kept the same narrator throughout this series, because it definitely makes the story flow and I love this narrator's voice.

This is book three in this dark, captivating series; you must read/listen to both XV : Fifteen (Book One) and VII : Seven (Book Two) before reading/listening to this book.

This is the final book in Mischa and Ellen's story and it is a dark, captivating tale. Mischa is brutal in everything he does and always plans to come out on top. While Ellen learns her place in his life and the war that rages around them, she must find a way to survive everything thrown her way. These two have been through a lot and it's a wonder that Ellen has even survived after everything she's been through. I absolutely loved this twisted, dark series and I highly recommend it to all readers/listeners out there that truly love the dark and twisted genre.

I (One)

Great characters and I really enjoyed this final part of the trilogy, plenty of mafia action and deception

The narrator brought the action to life

Man O Man!

I loved this ENTIRE story. I was a bit confused at the start of book one with the family dynamics BUT I hung in there and I am so happy I did. Interesting reads.

I (One): War of Roses, Book 3

I read this book when it first released and couldn't wait to listen to the audiobook. Like the first two in the series, it did not disappoint. Below is my original review for the story with an addition for the narration.

Just when you think there couldn't possibly be any more deception, secrets, lies, backstabbing, and betrayal in Ellen/Rose and Mischa's lives Ms. Sky proves you wrong.

Oh. My. Goodness!! This third book in the War of Roses series pulled me in and wouldn't let go. I couldn't put it down. I think I was holding my breath most of the time I was reading. With all that Ellen has had to endure her whole life it's really amazing she hasn't given up and just let death claim her before now. That's what I love about her though. In the two previous books, we saw glimpses of the fighter she is deep down, even if she didn't believe it about herself. In book three, I love that we get to see Ellen gain her confidence and find her strength.

Mischa has been crueler than cruel when it comes to Ellen. Like her though, in the previous two books, we got to see glimpses of the man behind the wall of paranoia he puts up with Ellen. I love the transformation we get to see of him as a man and as a lover.

Lastly, I love the development of Mouse and how she grows to trust Ellen. This book is supposed to be the last in the trilogy. However, I'm hoping there will be more to Mouse's story and her future.

There were a few new characters introduced in this book, but I'm not going to give away any spoilers as to who they are. You'll just have to read this for yourself to find out.

The War of Roses series is not for the faint of heart. There are scenes of unimaginable violence. However, if you enjoy these types of storylines, this series will not disappoint. I highly recommend reading all three books, but you need to read them in order.

I had never listened to anything by this narrator before this series, but I have really enjoyed her interpretation of the characters, especially Ellen. As we see Ellen grow in her strength and independence, I felt we could also hear it in the narration. I would definitely recommend listening to this audiobook, as well as the other two in the series.

mafia wars

This is book 3 and the final of Sky's War of the Roses series. Let me first say that this is so much better if read in order, you can read it as a stand alone but you will miss so much if you do. Also, Caitlin Allgood Knight does a phenomenal job of narrating this series. Her smooth and calming voice adds so much to this dark mafia world Sky takes us into. A great finally to this series that will take your breath away with it's twists, turns and deceptions. My favorite quote, "learn to trust me and I won't ever have a reason to betray you". This book will have you on the edge of your seats and breathless when it's all over.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Amazing Series!!

This is the third book in the captivating War of Roses Series, a dark romance. The story continues where the second ended. Ellen and Mischa are such great characters. Ellen is strong, and resilient. Mischa is ruthless, and dark. Their chemistry is sizzling hot, and stronger than ever. The secondary characters are very interesting, and they have an important part in this story. The storyline is intense, breathtaking, suspenseful, and filled with unpredictable twists and turns. The world building is very well done, and addictive. The story has only Ellen's POV, which is very well done, but I wish I had Mischa's POV. Caitlin Allgood Knight did an outstanding job with the narration. I highly recommend this Series.

1: (One) War of the Roses, Book 3 by Lana Sky

Ellen (Rose) Winthrop is about to find out that the rules in the game of her life have changed. With more than just her life on the line can she play to win.

Mischa Stepanov has saved Ellen more than once, but can he trust her to save him this time? Can he give her that power?
Ellen has been given information about her past that makes her question her loyalty to both men in her life. One that used her to make himself seem sane and the other that doesn’t question his. Both want her body, mind and soul but which one will she choose? One kept her in a gilded cage of lies and the other wants to teach her to be strong on her own. There is a lot at stake, but can she fill the role, or will she go down in flames and bring Mischa down with her? Everything comes down to the way she plays this game. Win, lose, or draw she needs alliances to go further in the game and with Mischa at her side will she be strong enough?

I enjoyed these audible books so much and I plan on immersing myself in more of Lana’s books as they come out. It brings her characters out even more than just reading them on my kindle.

This book belonged to Ellen and her day of reckoning. She came into her own and she made me so proud. You find out where everything began and the repercussions that followed. Nothing is what it seems, and the secrets keep circling around the same person, her mother. It’s where everything started but it will end with Ellen. I fell in love with Mischa even more in this book. You delve deeper into his mind and how his past intermingles with Ellen. It’s almost as if fate already had them in mind. He shows her that she is stronger than she thinks she is. Ellen teaches him to trust even though it is foreign to him. He doesn’t have to shoulder it all himself with her at his side if he lets her. They make better allies than enemies.

Breathe...

The one word has stuck with Ellen her whole life and that is what she does as she continues to survive the nightmarish world that Lana Sky has created in the 3rd book in the War of the Roses series. She is still a pawn in Mischa's game, coming to terms with her life at Winthrop, Robert, her father, and Briar. Secrets are uncovered as new players are introduced to the game. Who will win? Who will die as the past comes back in a vengeful way for all that is involved. I loved I (One) and how Caitlin Allgood Knight narrates with emotional intensity, expressing how Ellen is able to rise above the horror at each and every turn. Well done Lana Sky!
