Summary
If you are nuts about TV cookery programs and think chocolate is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, keep reading!
I Love Your Cupcakes is a "sweet" romance, a virtual fantasy high in calories and a fun adventure. Dare to give it a bite!
Dulce, Adelfa, and Storm, the protagonists of I Love Your Cupcakes are business partners, friends, and share some "interesting" family connections. All the men Dulce meets only ever talk about her cakes, and she's tired of it. Her friend, Adelfa, although she's a chemistry professor, can't manage to find the recipe for the perfect relationship. And Storm, the third of the partners of their bakery/coffee shop/bookshop/art gallery and ex-fire station, is an artist who is not a master in the art of love. How could they imagine that at the studio of the contest "Do You Have What It Takes to Be the Next Baking Star?" they'd find sexual harassment, cheats, fights, and also love?
With dogs, fire trucks, London double-decker buses, school buses, artists, chemists, engineers, architects, intrigue, scandals, bigamy, and lots and lots of desserts, I Love Your Cupcakes is a romantic comedy with a sweet heart. You will find baddies, crooks, goodies, odd balls, and flawed but endearing characters. More than anything, I can promise you good humor, friendship, smiles, sense of community, heart, and plenty of cakes. Try it! I'm sure you won't be able to stop once you give it a bite!
I hope you come to love Dulce, Adelfa, Storm, and their friends as much as I do. And if that is the case, please let me know. I wouldn't mind writing some more adventures about them and baking more cakes!

Unique Story With Past & Present Intertwined
This is a sweet story about three friends & business partners. It is told with past and present glimpses throughout. I found it a bit confusing at first because it always seems more difficult to keep up with multiple timelines when you are listening to a story versus reading from my kindle or book.
The story goes back and forth between when they decided to open a unique bakery together and when they find themselves in a TV cookery program a few years later.
The characters are well developed and the narration was ok.
There is a bit of suspense, drama, and light romance.
This audiobook was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.

Cute book
This isn't a book you're going to have to hang onto the edge of your seats for, but it's a delightful little story nonetheless. There were a few parts that read a little awkwardly, but not so much so that you wouldn't be able to enjoy the book. Kudos for the depth of characters and giving each their own unique types.

Delicious Story So Sweet To The Ears !
What did you love best about I Love Your Cupcakes?
I absolutely adored the 3 main characters, Dulce, Adelfa and Storm. Each one has a unique personality and they compliment each other in their daily goings and comings. They don't always agree on everything but they somehow manage to make their unique relationship work out for the best.
What was one of the most memorable moments of I Love Your Cupcakes?
Without give too much away I will say I enjoyed the bedroom scene that did not turn out the way the sex-crazed guy had planned. The book was so descriptive that the scene was in living color and in 3d right inside my head !!
Which scene was your favorite?
As mentioned in the previous comment the bedroom scene was so hilarious that I had to rewind the story and listen to it again. I really loved this part a lot.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did have an extreme reaction in that I think I gained 5 pounds listening the the characters discussing all of the cupcakes and cakes they were going to bake for the contest they had entered. I also loved hearing the actual recipes given to the listener at the end of the book. The perfect touch to make the book become so alive and real.
Any additional comments?
The voice artist Gwyn Olson has a slight accent which contributes to the delightful sweetness of the story. This is one of those books that leaves you wanting to hear more about the lives of the characters in the story. When it was over I thought to myself, "Well, darn...I'm going to miss them." Great story !!

Sweet feel good story
Any additional comments?
Light hearted, sweet, fun, entertaining story, with a slight hint of romance
.
You could listen to this story over a speaker and not worry about offending any ears.
The book starts a little slow and takes a few chapters to really get interested in the story. It is told through the past and present. This is a little confusing in the beginning of the book. Dulce, Adelfa and Storm are all very good characters. You can't help but like them immediately. While there is a small amount of drama, it is basically a fun, good guys triumph, feel good story.
The narrator Gwen Olson has a pleasant voice, but the narration does not flow smoothly. There is also not really any voice definition between the characters. The only way you know which character is speaking is when it is stated.

Refreshing
I enjoyed the relationships of the characters. It was a quick, fun read. At first I was confused going back and forth in time to when the girls started their bakery and to current time with the baking competition, but I caught on after a few chapters. It may be because I listened to the audiobook version.

Sweet, tame story
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed this sweet story. The characters were so caring and helpful. Having so many people from the community gather together is inspiring. I liked the bit of mystery surrounding the show and how they were able to take care of that problem. I'd love to see another story going in to the future a bit to see how things are going with Dulce and Adelfa, their shop and their men!
