Summary

I Have Sinned has been nominated for the 2019 Kindle Storyteller Award.

Bunny McGarry has finally got a lead in his mission to find the Sisters of the Saint, but the lead, one Father Gabriel de Marcos, isn’t willing to play ball. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Bunny has to put the padre under surveillance with a little help from some old friends. Father Gabriel runs a boxing club at the bad end of the Bronx, battling to keep kids out of gangs - noble, thankless work. Thing is, saints don’t typically have assassins sent after them. What sins are hidden in the padre’s mysterious past?

The Sisters of the Saint are many things but pushovers they ain’t. To regain their trust, Bunny must save the priest from the demons that are on his tail. Keeping the cantankerous priest alive would be difficult for anyone, never mind that Bunny has to resist the urge to kill him himself. He has to manage all this while living under the rules that chill him to the very bone. No drinking. No swearing. No violence.

I Have Sinned is book two in the McGarry Stateside series, a continuation of the smash hit Dublin Trilogy which also featured Bunny McGarry. It melds high-octane action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit.

Not as great as some of the review

The story had promise. I like Bunny and the rest but some times they came across as really DUMB and not very deep. When they have moments of their unique moral codes it seems a bit out of context and not genuine. It could be the narrator. I give Morgan credit for trying to make the distinctions and provide character depth... but some of the attempts are just...BAD:-). His attempt to sound Latin sound Asian (badly), his attempt to sound Middle Easter sound East Asian (badly) and I am not sure what the hell is going on with his attempts at Bunny's Irish accent...LOL :-)
The best characterization was Smithy...an American NYC dwarf...LOL.

Laughed my head off!

I have to admit that I had been a little disappointed with the book before this one but my goodness this has made up for it. I listened to it driving to and from work and it made me laugh out loud . I love the narration and applaud Morgan C Jones for bringing so many characters to life.

Another belter.

I love these novels and they are the only books I don't read until I've first heard the audiobooks. That's really hard because, like I said I really do love the novels. It's worth the wait though. After listening to each one I can read the book with Morgan C Jones's character voices in my head. He's that good and so are the books. I effectively read each one twice. They seem to be getting better too. A real pleasure.

Absolutely fabulous story and performance!

I can't describe in words the feeling of taking part in the adventures with Bunny McGarry, both thrilling and hilarious.
I just love this kind of humour. How long do we have to wait for the 3rd book Caimh?

From fun to a little unbelievable

I've enjoyed all of the books so far. this one brought the plot a little too far into unbelievable territory. though fun, I found myself rolling my eyes a little too often, which took some of the enjoyment out of it.

Wonderful!

This might be the best one yet, although they’re all so good, it’s hard to make that distinction. Morgan C. Jones does his usual excellent job of voicing the wonderfully engaging characters. I found myself completely drawn into the story and eager to get back to it, and also laughing out loud frequently. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
