Story
In The War on the West, international best-selling author Douglas Murray asks: if the history of humankind is a history of slavery, conquest, prejudice, genocide and exploitation, why are only Western nations taking the blame for it? It’s become, he explains, perfectly acceptable to celebrate the contributions of non-Western cultures, but discussing their flaws and crimes is called hate speech. What’s more it has become acceptable to discuss the flaws and crimes of Western culture, but celebrating their contributions is also called hate speech.

Over the last two centuries, America’s cops have increasingly come to resemble ground troops. The consequences have been dire: The home is no longer a place of sanctuary, the Fourth Amendment has been gutted, and police today have been conditioned to see the citizens they serve as enemies. In Rise of the Warrior Cop, Balko shows how politicians’ ill-considered policies and relentless declarations of war against vague enemies like crime, drugs, and terror have blurred the distinction between cop and soldier.

The modern woke-industrial complex divides us as a people. By mixing morality with consumerism, corporate elites prey on our innermost insecurities about who we really are. They sell us cheap social causes and skin-deep identities to satisfy our hunger for a cause and our search for meaning, at a moment when we lack both. Vivek Ramaswamy is a traitor to his class. He’s founded multibillion-dollar enterprises, led a biotech company as CEO, trained as a scientist at Harvard and a lawyer at Yale, and grew up the child of immigrants in a small town in Ohio.

Millions of people continue to protest police violence because these “solutions” do not match the problem: The police cannot be reformed. In Becoming Abolitionists, Purnell draws from her experiences as a lawyer, writer, and organizer initially skeptical about police abolition.

Los Angeles in the '60s was a hotbed of political and social upheaval. The city was a launchpad for Black Power - where Malcolm X and Angela Davis first came to prominence and the Watts uprising shook the nation. The city was home to the Chicano Blowouts and Chicano Moratorium, as well as being the birthplace of “Asian American” as a political identity. It was a locus of the antiwar movement, gay liberation movement, and women’s movement, and, of course, the capital of California counterculture.

Story
A deeply reported book on the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement, offering unparalleled insight into the reality of police violence in America and an intimate, moving portrait of those working to end it. In over a year of on-the-ground reportage, Washington Post writer Wesley Lowery travelled across the US to uncover life inside the most heavily policed, if otherwise neglected, corners of America today.
Summary
“I can’t breathe.”
These three words rocked the nation in the spring of 2020. The historic eruption of lawlessness and violence that followed George Floyd’s death opened new fault lines in the nation’s cultural and political landscape, threatening a radical reshaping of American society.
In I Can’t Breathe, the relentlessly penetrating David Horowitz exposes the biggest hoax of the 21st century. Despite its claim to be an “inclusive and spacious movement”, Black Lives Matter divides Americans by race, class, and party in pursuit of a radical agenda that would impoverish and degrade everyone.
Relying on groundbreaking research and dozens of internal documents, Horowitz reveals:
- Why Black lives don’t matter to the leaders of Black Lives Matter
- How, in just seven years, BLM became one of the most powerful cultural forces in America
- Why BLM is not a civil rights organization
- Why BLM leaders won’t be satisfied until the West has been dismantled and “reimagined”
The goals of Black Lives Matter are a far cry from those of the civil rights movement of 60 years ago, warns Horowitz. I Can’t Breathe uncovers the truth about BLM and provides solutions that will actually strengthen Black communities and guarantee the freedom of all citizens.

Objective truth
This book is extremely well narrated. As for the content, Mr. Horowitz is simply stating what anyone with any trace of intellectual integrity (ie not drunk on the liberal kool-aid) already understands. We've ALL been taught, since we were children, to obey police commands and that the time to argue your case is in court, NOT by resisting arrest... therefore, it shouldn't be surprising that if you're a convicted violent felon on drugs, that attacking a police officer with or without a weapon will likely get you shot, regardless of your race. We ALL know this, yet some still insist they didn't get the memo. Sadly, these are the only voices not "cancelled" in the broadcast and social media. Horowitz is one of VERY few public voices speaking truth on the matter in this so-called "free" country, and while it's somewhat refreshing, it is equally depressing to hear. It's actually quite disturbing to hear a compilation of so many of the massive media lies with which we've all been inundated in recent years. Not a happy tale. Not a feel good story, but rather a story of the even further erosion of integrity in our government and media (if that's even possible). This is a very important book and serves to arm those with the courage to stand in the face of this tidal wave of lies with pertinent, relevant FACTS with which to defend truth when it comes under attack in your daily life. As usual, the truth always comes out years after the fact when the subject matter is less timely, less relevant, and after the damage has already been done, and new media lies are already built upon the old ones. The left and the media have waged war on truth, which is in effect a war on democracy, people, and it's a battle for your mind. Prepare accordingly.

Excellent presentation of the lies of the left and BLM grifter politics
Loved how the facts are presented to expose BLM, and our present Communist Administration. BLM, Antifa, Biden, Harris, Obama, Clinton and Carter have all tried to destroy our great country. They all proclaim to do so under the guise of democracy, equality and now “equity” using racial bias as the tool to divide. The cases discussed in this book clearly expose how the left lies everyday, how they have no real stance and use the people mentioned as their “victims”. If you want to know the real TRUTH, read this book, buy copies for friends and family members, expose the liars for what they really are, tyrannical Communist grifters that are on a path to destroy America.

Courageous Author!
It's an honor to be one of the first to review this book; I'm sure I won't be the last. I believe the book, & I'm glad there's still an author out there with enough courage to tell the truth, & a publisher with enough courage to publish the truth. In this cancel-culture where our freedom of speech is under attack, it's like a breath of fresh air for those of us who refuse to follow the crowd or be brainwashed. Better buy this one while you still can. I also liked the audio version: clear & easy to follow.

A Great Book
I Can't Breathe a well-written book that provides proof that we have all lived through a hoax for a few years now. Most of what has happened have been lies and criminal. Yet our elected officials have allowed it to occur rather than stop it. We have all suffered from these actions. Many have lost all they owned, while some were killed—all for a hoax.
