Summary

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

What would it take to make you intervene?

When Ella Longfield overhears two attractive young men flirting with teenage girls on a train, she thinks nothing of it - until she realises they are fresh out of prison and her maternal instinct is put on high alert. But just as she’s decided to call for help, something stops her. The next day, she wakes up to the news that one of the girls - beautiful, green-eyed Anna Ballard - has disappeared.

A year later, Anna is still missing. Ella is wracked with guilt over what she failed to do, and she’s not the only one who can’t forget. Someone is sending her threatening letters - letters that make her fear for her life.

Then an anniversary appeal reveals that Anna’s friends and family might have something to hide. Anna’s best friend, Sarah, hasn’t been telling the whole truth about what really happened that night - and her parents have been keeping secrets of their own.

Someone knows where Anna is - and they’re not telling. But they are watching Ella.

Amazing read. Lots of twists and turns and masses of suspense. Couldn’t put it down and read it all on one day. Fab narration and great plot. Would recommend.

Excellent page turner

A thorough good read and beautifully read by Elizabeth Knowelden who captured the mood of the story throughout. I couldn't wait to find time to listen to the next chapter. Well done Teresa Driscoll. I look very forward to her next book.

Amazing mystery

This was the first book I had read in a long time where I genuinely couldn’t guess the outcome. So many twists and turns along the way. Brilliant narration and a great story!

Very enjoyable book

What an emotional story!

I had the same feelings of dread as Ella when I was listening to the encounter on the train. Remembering what it was like to have teenage girls I was willing the girls to be sensible.

There was just the right pace of information release taking the story forward and I liked how it was told from a number of characters perspectives.

The story was extremely well narrated by Elizabeth Knowelden. The epilogue had me in tears.

This was definitely a book that I couldn’t stop listening to once I started. A really gripping storyline that kept me guessing to the end.

It was a good book to listen to.

The storyline kept me guessing and it didn't turn out the way I thought it would. I liked the way the narrator spoke. She made it more interesting. Given that I bought the book on a 2 for 1 offer it was good value for money.
