About this listen

'Mightily entertaining' - Heat

This audiobook includes an interview with Ozzy Osbourne from 2009.

People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of sixty, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f**king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time.

A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil. I'm just John Osbourne: a working class kid from Aston, who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time.©2009 Ozzy Osbourne

true to form OZZY is an absolute legend.. I feel like I know him personally as this book is quite open to all of his ups and downs with the humour I expected and no holding back .. this is not the Frank skinner version and for I am grateful.. this is read with a brummie accent and brings it home as though it could be OZZY himself reading or telling you the ins and outs with a great reading style.. I like it.. 5* all day thumbs up

I'm not a massive Ozzy or Sabbath fan, but when someone on the planet rock Facebook group mentioned how funny this is, I had to give it a listen - I wasn't disappointed. Ozzy Osbourne is simply an accidental genius; beneath the darkness of the drugs and domestic abuse is a natural and warm humour that makes it hard to dislike they guy and hold his sins against him. What I see is a simple soul who never moved too far mentally from his Commoner roots, nearly killing himself for our entertainment in the process. Great read. highly recommended.
