A minimalist life leads to freedom — freedom from debt, unrest, and the rat-race. Any excessive things, whether unused, unnecessarily purchased, or unfulfilling in nature that you remove will feel like a weight lifted from your shoulders.

An Overview of Danish Mindful Living
This review is for the audiobook version of Hygge Living: The Practical Guide to Creating a Simple & Cozy Lifestyle the Danish Way by Thomas Nielson and narrated by Matyas J. For the duration of this review I'm going to refer to this book by Hygge Living instead of its full title for brevity's sake.
Hygge Living is a short, practical, and upbeat look at the Danish philosophy of living called hygge. The first thing this book taught me is that I've been saying hygge wrong for as long as I've been aware of the word.
For my fellow philistines, It's not pronounced "High-Ghee", it's more like "Hoo-Guh". There, now I've taught y'all something. Just paying it forward, like I was taught.
If you've heard of Marie Kondo, either through her books or her Netflix show, then Hygge Living is going to feel right at home for you. Basically, it's the Danish version of minimalism and mindful living.
Hygge Living strives to impress upon its reader (or listener) the importance of leading a simple, examined life where experiences and relationships take priority over possessions and materialism. In this goal, I found it pretty effective.
The narration by Matyas J. was pleasant and very adequate. Matyas maintained an appropriate pace throughout the material and kept me engaged as a listener in what could have otherwise been a difficult kind of book to lend full attention.
My one criticism for this audiobook is its lack of a companion PDF. I would have appreciated a few simple, checklists and maybe some pictures of what "good hygge" looks like around the home, office, car, etc. This, however, is a "nice to have" and not a "must have" in my perspective and in no way diminished my enjoyment of Hygge Living.
Books like this often fall into the trap of sounding like a podcast or a series of blog posts. Hygge Living is a fully developed, well thought out book. Hygge Living inspired in me a desire to find joy in the simple things in life. If you're curious about hygge, it's a great place to start.

Great introduction to Hygge
While many people are on a new trend using an Asian method of cleaning house, I really prefer the Hygge way. After all I simply want a comfy cozy home. This is a great book that explains the basics of Hygge and why all people, especially Americans need to incorporate this into their lives. yep, it's about Hygge
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
As the title suggests, this seemed like a simple overview of this concept of this Danish minimalist living concept. I think it offered an interesting take on decluttering and organizing a home to be "cozy and relaxing." The book hints at there being more in-depth thought on this concept, so I would only recommend this for people, like myself, that have had no exposure to the concept. The narrator does a decent job of trying to make the content interesting. I am intrigued enough to want to dig a little deeper, but not completely convinced that my life has been changed after this book.

Informative Guide
This was a quick informative read about incorporating hygge into your everyday life including your work space, home, relationships, and even social media. Hygge and mindfulness are supposed to work hand in hand to balance, destress, and declutter your life. The main takeaway that I got from this book was to figure out who and what clutters your life and mind and get rid/ let go of them to become happier.
Matyas did a good job narrating this book. His tone was more guide-like than judging, which I did appreciate. He spoke at a steady pace and had a good flow as he narrated that made it very easy to listen to.

Very practical book
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This is the second book I about Hygge from this author. The greatest thing about this book is that is a very practical guide to help you walk around your home and really think deeply about the adjustments you can make to create a more Hygge-friendly environment. One of the greatest hits of Thomas Nielson's books is the narration. Matyas does a great job sharing the Hygge message during the books. I think more people should listen to this book, so go ahead and get it!

Expands Hygge
This book, like Hygge Home, talks about getting cozy in your life, but expands to include the time you spend with friends and at the office. It talks about finding peace in your home and accepting that you're letting go of things you don't need anymore, or things that cause you stress. It has a really meditate-y vibe about it that I appreciate and while it's not instructions, it's a guideline of how to bring hygge to your whole existence rather than just your home.
It's really short and easy to read, and it's inspiring, especially when it's talking about relationships and how to bring more intention to them. I had to learn the hard way that I am allowed to curate the people around me; that I don't have to keep people around who don't bring something to the table.
Hygge Living makes me feel like even if my house is still a crater of stuff I haven't tackled yet, at least I've nailed the "people" part.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
