About this listen

Part autobiography, part self-help, part confession, part celebration of being a common-or-garden woman, part collection of synonyms for nunny, Sarah Millican's debut audiobook delves into her super normal life with daft stories, funny tales and proper advice on how to get past life's blips - like being good at school but not good at friends, the excitement of IBS and how to blossom postdivorce.

If you've ever worn glasses at the age of six, worn an off-the-shoulder gown with no confidence, been contacted by an old school bully, lived in your childhood bedroom in your 30s, been gloriously dumped in a Frankie and Benny's, cried so much you felt great, been for a romantic walk with a dog or worn leggings two days in a row even though they smelt of wee from a distance, then this is your audiobook. If you haven't done those things but wish you had, this is your audiobook. If you just want to laugh on a train/sofa/toilet or under your desk at work, this is your audiobook.

Given my age and sex, I doubt I'm Sarah's target audience but this book is fantastic! Every chapter had me laughing. She has a great talent for mixing together funny anecdotes with great advice and serious solutions to serious problems. Couldn't stop listening!

A brilliant listen .
Sarah’s unique views on life made for an excellent book. She is funny and down to earth, risqué in places and totally honest in her observations.
I really enjoyed listening to this audible book

Funny and thought provoking

I found it very honest and brave, as well as inspiring in the way she's uses her passions and experiences to help other people. For example when she decided to start Standard Issue, a non profit women's magazine, without all the superficial makeup and fashion adverts that lower our self esteem and give us an unhealthy body image. I also found the #JoinMe idea very heartwarming and is a lovely way to reach out to people during the festive period who would otherwise be alone. Top marks for comedy, inspiration and advice! :-)

Very funny and crude... I loved it! :-)

This book is so wonderful, laugh out loud funny and relatable! I have finished it feeling like I’ve had a wonderful chat with a best friend. Going to eat some cake and drink some tea - like a champion 😉
