Never enough!

Terrified Lavalouts, nervous mine escapee windwalkers, and a deadly exterminator eating fire dragon? What else could you need in one book? Cressida Cowell thinks a runt son of a chief, a psychopathic teacher, a bogburgerler better then her parents, a berserker with asthma, a maniacal outcast riding an exterminator, and last, but most definitely not least, a barbarian hero with a terrible singing voice. Oh, and David Tennant is so good at the voices it's unbelievable. Of course, you'll know that if you've listened to the others.

A firm favourite

Would you listen to How to Twist a Dragon's Tale again? Why?

My son loves this audio book and as it actually contains a proper plot, jokes and great characters it is no hardship to have it playing in the car.

Have you listened to any of David Tennant’s other performances? How does this one compare?

David Tennant is on top form, his characterisation is fantastic, he reads at a good pace, not to slow or too fast and really adds to this story.

Great fun for all ages

This title from Cressida Cowell is excellent a very exciting and entertaining story about hiccup and his adventures. The story is engaging and the characters realistic. The narrator, David Tenant (doctor who) was an excellent choice by Cowell and he really makes the story come alive.

Both myself and my children really enjoyed this title and we have bought the rest of the series

perfect for a five year old - and their parents!

We purchased this title out of necessity - as our son was desperate to see what happened to Hiccup in the next installment. The series has captured his imagination, and although I read the first book to him, David Tennant does a sterling job for me, when we are in the car :) The twists and turns of the story have our little boy entranced, and often chuckling out loud at Toothless and co's antics. In fact, the stories have drawn both of us in, as well, and headphones are no longer required in order to preserve the driver's sanity - unlike the Thomas the Tank Engine stories of old...

Highly recommended!

Adorable

I like kid books on occasion. Don't get into this one thinking its anything like the movie though. So long as you keep the two separate from each other its enjoyable even for adults. Very cute and adorable as well as a lot of fun.

A "Twisted" blast!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, my son's could not stop listening. David Tennant's delivery of this tale just proves he is a multi-faceted actor. We (yeah, I couldn't stop listening either) have listened to all the stories up to this one and look forward to the rest ... especially if Mr. Tennant performs.

What did you like best about this story?

Non-stop action by a group of friends. Cressida Cowell has penned a classic series of tales. This one continues the adventure and Hiccup is one of those hero's that is able to provide the fun example of why violence is not always the best response to a situation. Cressida is able to use suitably engaging names (Snotlout, Gobber the Belch) and situations for boys hitting their potty humour stage of life. Just plain good fun from start to finish!

What about David Tennant’s performance did you like?

David Tennant is able breathe life into each character with his incredible range of voices. You do not have any doubt about who has spoken a line or what is to be conveyed. Yet another simply incredible performance from a very talented actor.

Any additional comments?

Over summer vacation the kids and I listened to 4 of the series of 8. It was great fun and David Tennant made the characters come alive with different voices and personalities.
