About this listen

Making money is a knack, a knack that can be acquired. And if someone like me can become rich, then so can you - no matter what your present circumstances. Here is how I did it and what I learned along the way.

So writes Felix Dennis, who believes that almost anyone of reasonable intelligence can become rich, given sufficient motivation and application.

How to Get Rich is a distillation of his business wisdom. Primarily concerned with the step-by-step creation of wealth, it ruthlessly dissects the business failures and financial triumphs of 'a South London lad who became rich virtually by accident'. Part manual, part memoir, part primer, this book is a template for those who are willing to stare down failure and transform their lives.

Canny, infuriating, cynical and generous by turns, How to Get Rich is an invaluable guide to 'the surprisingly simple art of collecting money which already has your name on it'.

Such an amazing book every entrepreneur should have this in their collection. Really appreciate the poetry and the knowledge that has been passed on in this book.

Witty, smart, searingly honest. Dennis has clarified for me that I neither have what it takes to be rich, nor do I want to be. I’ll pursue happiness and contentment instead.
The book is peppered with Felix’s own poetry and it’s an entertaining read whether you care about riches or not.

Far more than the title

All the secrets laid out here and all that stops people is the willingness, the compulsion to do it.

The best all around guide

Performance was excellent, really easy listen. The advice is still good but some examples obviously outdated and even proven wrong (apple). But don’t let that put you off, still lots of useful wisdom in here.

Outdated but useful

Enjoyed it a lot. Very conversational and jam packed with insight. Disagree with some of the stuff like the cut-throatness and ruthlessness as well as “rich” being close to a billionaire. I think comfortably poor as he calls it with 5-15K a month is very doable in countries in Europe. Also, if that’s your goal then the pie is big enough for everyone. The whole idea that for me to gain something, someone else has to lose something isn’t for me. There’s nothing wrong with running a successful smaller business that pays you enough to live the life you want. For many people that can be done on 10-20K a month. That said, enjoyed this book and will read it many times over.
