Story
There are no douchebags in this story. Well, there are, but they're not who this story is about. This story is about me - the coach's daughter. When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university's take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie - living with my father would be temporary, and he'd make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone. Wrong on both counts.

Scarlett is always the sensible one: The sober driver. The planner. The one holding your hair back while you're worshiping the porcelain gods. Week-after-week, she visits Jock Row with her friends - the university's hottest party scene and a breeding ground for student athletes. And if keeping her friends out of trouble and guys out of their pants was a sport, she'd be the star athlete. Being a well known jock-blocker gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons; just like that, she's banned from Jock Row. No guy wants a girl around who keeps their jock friends from getting laid.

Story
You'd think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You'd be wrong. For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don't know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.

"Hard pass." That's what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse - and I never saw her again. It doesn't matter that I'm a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face. Beauty might only be skin deep for some - but I know better. "Pay up." That's what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn't refuse.

Fake engaged to the hottest quarterback in the country? Score. They say nothing compares to your first kiss, but our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience. Our second kiss...that one was real. He cradled my face like he was terrified he'd f--k it up. He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed. Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs, he inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate, and he'd never get another piece.

Summary
He's not a douchebag; but that doesn't stop his friends from turning him into one.
My friends want me to get laid.
So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus in bold printed letters:
Are you the lucky lady who's going to break our roommate's cherry?
Him: Socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: Must have a pulse. He will reciprocate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551.
The morons can't even spell. And the texts I've been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I'm not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.
This isn't the kind of attention I want.
One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can't bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.
However, after seeing her in person, I know she's not the girl for me. But my friends won't let up - they just don't get it. Douchebags or not, there's one thing they'll never understand: Girls don't want me.
Especially her.

Love the story, narration was good enough
I loved Rhett and Laural's story! I thought it was cute and cringey in the best possible way but also hot! I thought the narration was really well done for Rhett's character although the french speaking parts weren't my favourite. I thought the narrator for Laural could have been better as I thought her voice was annoying at times. I loved the actual book itself, it was different and fun! I HATED Rhetts roomates like a lot but they redeemed themselves a little bit. I'm definetly going to go back and read the first to books but I dont think it will be on audiable.

Rhett is so sweet, not a douche at all
AWWW, I LOVED RHETT, I just wanted to cuddle the awkward southern boy half the time, pat him on the head and take him home he was so innocent and cute.
Rhett isn't a douchebag at all, I do love a douchebag though the bigger the a-hole the better but Rhett is so sweet, he's also insecure but that may have something to do with being told he's not great looking all the time.
Rhett is a southern sweet talking none douchebag.
Not my favorite book to date but it was fun, I really am loving this series and I enjoyed the journey to Rhett finding love.
Rhett is the new transfer, hes away from home and wrestling for the college team, he's the new guy so the other douchebags aptly name him "new guy", Yeh! there that inventive lol
Rhett's team mates place posters all over campus saying "Get Rhett laid" which also includes his photo and phone number. Rhett is the brunt of a few jokes throughout but this latest joke has his phone constantly beeoing with nude pictures blowing up his phone.
Laurel is a good looking girl, beautiful even with her bright read hair, big boobs, gorgeous figure the type of girl the football team drool over, she's a wet dream and I would also say she's also vain. When Laurel is dared by her cousin to text Rhett, from all the hundreds of texts he has received laurels stand out, she's persistent, curious about Rhett in a none attraction kind of way and a series of conversations begin between them.
Laurel knows what Rhett looks like and even states he's not good looking but you could say his body and personality grows on her and even his rugged looks.
When laurel and Rhett meet a friendship develops and it's laurel who actually feels more for him, Rhett just doesn't let himself look past friend-zone because he thinks he is out of her league.
A slow-burn romance that I really enjoyed Rhett's character made this book for me, laurel I wasn't to smitten on.
The learning hours is a fun read with humour, fan me down hot scenes, told in dual pov's and leads to a hea.
Rhett is bullied throughout this, yes there practical jokes fromt he other team mates ut it's bullying all the same. I didn't feel there was closure on this, the team accepting him Rhett making friends, I would of liked closure on this subject.
looking forward to whatever Sara Ney delivers next.
I listened this on audio and the narration is brilliant, they really brought the characters to life. i would definitely read more books from these narrators.

Unicorn Boyfriend
I have really enjoyed Sara Ney's Douchebag series, but none as much as The Learning Hours. I absolutely fell in love with Rhett and couldn't get enough of this adorably awkward sweetheart! This is book 3 in the interconnected series, but can be read/listened to as a standalone.
I loved how the tables were turned this time around, pairing an inexperienced hero with a more seasoned heroine. Rhett was the perfect southern gentleman, but struggled with his confidence in social situations. My heart hurt for him as he tried to figure out the right thing to say and do, without looking like a complete idiot. There were plenty of funny times as Rhett began to explore this other side of college/life thanks to his douchebag roommates and wrestling teammates. I loved getting a cameo here and there of our heroes from books 1 and 2, Oz and Zeke, as well.
Laurel started out as the typical mean girl, but quickly learned and showed that appearances can be deceiving. Yes, things started out under unconventional circumstances, but I loved watching the slow burn chemistry between these two. Rhett's reluctance to speak freely about what he wanted, only made his attempts in French all the more swoony and sexy. It was so very refreshing and wonderful to see the good guy remain true to himself and prevail.
Thanks to the beauty of whispersync, I was able to switch easily between the audiobook and ebook and it really enriched the experience. Josh Goodman really shined as the lovable Rhett and Muffy Newton was the perfect sassy Laurel. Being able to hear all of the confusion, excitement, wonder, and love made me fall even harder for these two. Although my heart is happy and I have a goofy grin on my face thanks to the epilogue, I would love a novella or look into the future for all the couples we've met in this series. This was definitely my favorite of the 3 books though and Rhett truly lived up to his Unicorn Boyfriend status.

Boy Did Rhett Learn in this story!
I seriously have no idea why I waited to read this series. Each book in it is a stand alone, but has the same memorable characters. I couldn't get enough of How to Date a Douchebag: The Learning Hours by Sara Ney. Yes, I was among those who judged a book by it's title. I didn't want to read about Douchebags. But boy was I missing out. Sara Ney has a way of making her characters completely redeemable. I absolutely loved them all and I couldn't wait to read more.
This story in particular is about a guy who is by no means a douchebag. Rhett Rabideaux is a stand-up respectable guy, who happens to have douchebags as friends....well teammates would be a more accurate description, because I don't think I would want friends like those. He is new to campus and is there to wrestle and get a degree. His friends have other plans for what they think he should focus on. As the new guy, they felt it was their duty to welcome him properly to the team, through hazing rituals they deemed humorous. But the joke was on them in the end.
Laurel witnessed Rhett's hazing first hand. As a dare she began texting him, in a response to one of the pranks his teammates pulled. Little did she know, there was much more to the man behind the text. Rhett wasn't like any other man she had dated. He was more than she could have ever imagined.
I seriously did not want this book to end. I love the characters, storyline and combustible chemistry that is woven into the plot. I cannot wait to read another book from this series!
PS - The narration for this story was AMAZING! Josh Goodman and Muffy Newton are becoming among my favorite voices to listen to. Their performance is brilliant. Combined that with Sara Ney's work and the trio are unstoppable. I would highly recommend anything either of these two perform, based upon this series alone.

5 How to Date a Douchebag Stars
Rhett - Laurel
I loved this book because it was flipped. The douchebag could have been the girl really and it was nice to see a man be so clueless and sweet and what a charmer! I am a sucker for these books.
Rhett is a transfer student who is kinda lost, his team mates are not making it easy and boy do they prank the poor fella.
But if not for the pranks he never would have meet Laurel. I think I like that she was just as taken aback by her feeling’s for Rhett but she embraces it and I love that she just fell for who he was.
Sigh fantastic narration.. I neeeeeeeeeeed more books like this please.

Flove Rhett!
This has become my favorite of the Douchebag series. Rhett is unavoidably lovable and his cluelessness makes him so much more so. His cute and clumsy (non) pursuit of the feisty red haired heroine makes anyone and everyone relate to the struggles of dating even if you are long past and out of the staring scene. The narration is spot on, and breathes life into these characters in a way that sucks you in. This entire series is epic for the simple fact that sometimes even douchebags are lovable to someone. Buy this book! You won't be disappointed.

It just keeps getting better and better!
I am just loving this series of college romances and this one is just wonderful! The premise of this story is that the hero is a transfer student on the wrestling team, recruited by the coach from a college in Louisiana. His teammates don't exactly give him a warm welcome, hazing him repeatedly and causing him embarrassment and costing him money. He's actually not the most handsome guy, though he's got a perfect body. But some things about Rhett: he's a real nice guy, treats women with respect and he's only had sex once, he's really kind of shy with low self esteem around women. The heroine, Laurel, is a knockout gorgeous redhead who never has trouble getting a date, but all she feels is used by the guys she has dated. Her cousin is a trouble magnet and gets her involved in one of the hazings, but she soon feels sorry for her behavior and starts to fall slowly for Rhett. Convincing him that she really likes him is her biggest hurdle, getting him to believe he's what she wants is her mission. I adored the banter, wanted to smack his crappy teammates around and cheered both Rhett and Laurel on as they proved that it doesn't matter what's on the outside that counts! I think this is my favorite of the three books so far, though I love them all. Narration was just excellent. This author is now on my one-click list.
