Wow, what an incredible book, jam-packed full of knowledge and helpful tips. My favourite part is that it actually takes you step by step through how to prepare and buy a home. It gives you multiple recommendations, which is amazing as everyone's situations are different, so this book is truly for ALL first-time buyers. Yvonne also includes homework after every chapter. This is amazing as you can take all the knowledge you have just learnt and begin to take tangible steps forward in the buying process.

I love how this book explains in layman terms all the confusing house buying jargon which makes it really simple to follow and made me feel more confident now that I am starting my house buying process.

Highly recommend this book, it is incredibly detailed and helps beginners feel confident and at ease in the buying process.

I'd done a lot of research on my own, but I learned so much more and all in one place. Plus, some of the information I found online was either incomplete or just plain wrong. I think having an experienced agent who is not YOUR agent is what makes this book so valuable. You get all the strategies the agent has without the agent trying to convince you to just close the deal. In fact, the writer even tells you NOT to buy a home you can't afford, even if your lender tells you can qualify for it. I also like her idea of looking for the Goldilocks house. I think it's sometimes hard to make complex information enjoyable and accessible without talking "down" to the reader. I feel like this author did that. It makes me feel like she actually CARES.

This book helped me so much in understanding that buying a house is actually an option. The author lists several financing options that work with buyers like me; options that can even help with down payment and qualifying. I will soon be ordering a print copy to highlight and annotate. There is so much invaluable information within these pages, coming straight from an experienced and knowledgeable expert. This is, without a doubt, a small investment to save big money on your house. Most definitely a great resource for any first-time home buyer!

Not only CAN I buy a house after reading this book I WILL buy a house because now I know HOW to buy a house. This book is well named! I have learned so much about financing, qualifying, how to prepare and submit an offer, how to negotiate repairs, what the appraisal process is like, and what to expect at closing. Buying a house is no longer this scary monster in the dark. It's doable, and now I know how to do it.

I felt highly naive and uneducated when I purchased my first house, so I looked for resources that my daughter could use before going house hunting. This book is phenomenal. It provided my daughter with the knowledge and education to get the best deal possible, and the author breaks it down step by step. If you are looking to buy a house, you can't afford not to listen to this book.
