Kenneth, as always, did a great job presenting each person with their own characteristic voice.

The audio version of Houston is performed by Kenneth Obi. One of my favorite narrators, Mr. Obi has these guys down. He uses his wonderful dommy voice for the gruff and sultry Houston and his Reece is adorable, yet still very masculine. It’s easy to see he has a lot of fun with the characters in this novel, and he keeps the story rolling along at a great pace.
Watching Houston and Reece stumble and fumble as they try to figure out if the other is interested is pretty funny, but once they get together? Well I’m not going to spoil it for y’all, but DAMN they’re hot together! Turns out that writing as Shaw Montgomery or M.A. Innes it doesn’t matter, this author writes a smoking hot sex scene. I just wish the story had been longer once they made their connection because they work so well together.
As this is the first in the series we get to meet a number of characters and see their dynamics in action. I’m looking forward to watching them all hook up, especially Eli, because someone has got to tame that boy and I can’t wait to see it happen!

The beginning of the audible was hard to listen to, Kenneth’s voice was slow, it was the first time I considered speeding his voice up!! the voices seemed all over the place, I really struggled to understand who was talking at times, however Kenneth seemed to settle after the first chapter and he kicks back into his usual fantastic story telling. Oh and the scene where Houston listens to Reece’s friends help him move in, Kenneth’s narration was so on point it was hilarious.
I will add that I have listened to it a couple of times now, to try and pinpoint why I struggled so much with the beginning that the voices don’t sound as bad, so maybe I just needed to get used to them.
This book is great for low angst readers/listeners who like their Dom’s in sexy underwear!!!
