Summary
Sequel to the number one New York Times best seller!
Sarah J. Maas's sexy, groundbreaking Crescent City series continues with the second installment.
Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal - they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds.
The Asteri have kept their word so far, leaving Bryce and Hunt alone. But with the rebels chipping away at the Asteri's power, the threat the rulers pose is growing. As Bryce, Hunt, and their friends get pulled into the rebels' plans, the choice becomes clear: Stay silent while others are oppressed or fight for what's right. And they've never been very good at staying silent.
In this sexy, action-packed sequel to the number one best seller House of Earth and Blood, Sarah J. Maas weaves a captivating story of a world about to explode - and the people who will do anything to save it.

I need the next book NOW!
Ok, basically do not expect this book itself to excite you like ACOTAR, but it is just a sniff of what’s to come and a prelude. The exciting part is yet to come and I cannot wait!

A bit to much soft porn?
Story is great, so is the performance, but the title says it all. Looking forward to the next book tho.

What happened??
I would like to ask Sarah when did she lost it.
I loved Throne of Glass and loved Court of Thorns and Roses so I started listened to Crescent series. Someone said it'll pick up and just the start is slow.
Well it was slow, then it got kinda exciting, the it slowed down again, then I fell asleep...
There's literally NO likable characters in the first book. Maybe only the lion tailed pet and I think it's only cause it doesn't talk.
Is it even possible to like the whole thing when you hate the main character(s)?? Bryce sounds like an entitled brat with daddy issues. We all have them, sweetheart. Doesn't mean we go ..... around like cheap ladies of the night. Especially after someone tells us the things Conner did. This character is definitely not a good role model for young girls and women. She's a character that's meant to be strong (I guess) but the way she acts doesn't show strength OR independence.
She hates all fae or all men? Only uses them. Okay. We heard you the first time, Bryce.
She gets obsessed with the male characters certain body part(s) and the way the author turns the book into cheap smut is gross to me. Where is the adventure? Where is the real strength? Where are all the likable characters?????
I literally TRIED to like the book(s) and gave them a shot. I listened to the first one but I was half through the second one and fell asleep for the ...th time and decided I was done.
I'm returning both and not even trying with the 3rd one.
Instead I think I'll listen to the old ones again. I really hope Sarah gets IT back soon. Take her time and get the cheap fanfic out of her system. Until then...

Enjoyable story with good characters
I’m enjoying the books and characters. The narrator is great… maybe just A few too many detailed sex scenes… gets a bit repetitive
