Summary

When Emma moves to Astoria, Oregon, she is given two rules:

#1 - don’t cross to “their” side of the street.
#2 - don’t mess with the elites, especially Lexen Darken, top elite and resident bad boy.

While she finds this both weird and insulting, Emma has no actual intention of breaking these rules - until her guardians go missing. Now all bets are off. Only a single line separates her side of the street from the elites', and she's crossing it.

Captured and held by Lexen and his brothers, she learns the rules are in place for a very good reason. There's a secret world hidden in this small town that goes far beyond the one she knows and understands.

A world not for humans.

This is a full-length fantasy/paranormal romance story. It's upper YA, with cursing and some nondetailed sex scenes/references.

Amazing !

The book is wonderful, with a well-crafted story and developed ben. The book captured me from beginning to end, leaving that desire to know what will happen in the next books. I still had not read any of this author and I enjoyed the experience.
Now, about the narration work done by Vanessa Moyen, I liked it. Was a great job.

Awful Narration

I only made it 15 minutes into this book because I couldn’t handle the narrator’s halting way of speaking. She uses the same inflection for every group of four words and put emphasis on random words - sometimes breaking up sentences or phrases! It was disappointing as I was interested in this book.

too sexual, her books are great fo the story line.

The book is too repetitive from the phrases she uses, they are too frequent and the book is too awkward and sexual.

Alien or Supernatural?

UpperYA level story due to physical consummation in the epilogue. Don’t worry- it’s not explicit in any way. Your call if you consider this an Alien or Supernatural genre.
Emma and her guardians move to Astoria in time for her to start her senior year of high school. Life gets complicated when she comes to the attention of one of the Elite families. There’s enough of a description of the storyline in Audible and Amazon to decide if you’re interested. I thought it was interesting and creative, but it didn’t move me as much as JE’s series co-written with Jane Washington.
Moyen does a decent job of narration.
