About this listen

Two party members, Peter and Nick, are canvassing for the upcoming by-election. Peter, the older and less physically fit, takes on the quieter end of Priory Road, with its old Victorian houses. But as Peter advances up the road, the atmosphere becomes more unworldly and unsettling. What awaits Peter at the end house?

A neat little short story that holds your attention from start to finish. As far as scary goes, I’d call it a mild Korma on the creepy curry scale, more eerie than terrifying, but still satisfying.
At only 17 minutes long, it’s an easy listen, I played it three times just to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Peter McGiffen’s narration is excellent, delivering the perfect tone for the story.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a quick, well-told tale.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

A classic short story. Without spoiling the listen, this short 15 minute story really draws the listener in. Hints of MR James here, left wanting me to hear more of the authors works.
Narrator Peter McGiffen did a great job here. 5☆

This is the perfect time of year for uncanny and supernatural stories, and this tale doesn't disappoint. Like the best of this type it has a traditional structure, and the spookiness is not overblown. All in all a very satisfactory listen, aided very much by the narration. Peter McGiffen has the perfect dark brown voice for this sort of story adding both and unease and coziness! He definitely brings the extra dimension that so benefits this sort of story. Recommended.

A good traditional supernatural chiller
