Malcolm Pembroke never expected to make a million pounds without making enemies. Nor did he expect his latest wife to be brutally murdered. All the clues suggest the killer comes from close to home, but after five marriages and nine children, that still leaves the field wide open.

When he find his own life in danger, Pembroke entrusts his safety to his estranged son, Ian, an amateur jockey; and through him discovers a compulsive new outlet for his financial expertise. Soon he's playing the international blood stock market for incredible stakes. Not the safest bet for a man on the run from avaricious relatives. Particularly when one of them's got a bomb.

Where does Hot Money rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favourite books! I first read it a number of years ago, and have just rediscovered it on Audible. I have always found Dick Francis to be a wonderful storyteller, and Tony Britten really brings the characters to life!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hot Money?

There were many high points, but discovering who the killer was had to have been the best.

What about Tony Britton’s performance did you like?

I could almost believe that the Dick Francis books were written just to be narrated by Tony Britten!! He seems to be the only person who could bring the characters to life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I hated having to put it down and stayed awake half the night to finish it.

Any additional comments?

I found (as with all Mr Francis's works) that the characters were well-rounded and believable, the storytelling excellent & left you wanting more.
