Hostile is a beautifully written and poignant MM romance; I absolutely loved it! I was immersed and enthralled from the beginning to the very end. Kudos to Nicole Dykes, an exceptional writer who stays true to her characters' personas. The plot is not intricate nor elaborate, yet deep and easy to get emotionally invested in the drama, passion, and romance. The dynamic between Grayson and Rhett was authentic, raw, and simply beautiful. I loved how these two very different men found each other and grew together, overcoming personal demons, past scars, and fear of intolerance. The attraction was undeniable, repeatedly pushing and pulling each other back in and toward something great. It was definitely worth the listen!

Stellar narration by Devon Ryder and Bryant Walker. They did a terrific job capturing the characters' personalities and emulating their emotions. They certainly brought the story to life and made it even more enjoyable. Hostile is a wonderfully written MM romance, one I'll highly recommend.

Being in high-school is not easy and neither is being handed a future you don’t really want. The MCs were so different and yet they complemented each other so well. The jock and the broody artist. I loved their happily ever after.

Grayson seems to have it all- Looks, popularity, too grades, gifted athlete. He’s also deeply closeted, and unsure about the immediate attraction he feels toward Rhett. Rhett is articistic, smart, and broken. A foster kid until his adoption as a teenager into a loving family, he’s still reclusive and slow to trust. What he doesn’t expect is how persistent Grayson is to extend a hand in friendship.

Rhett is so guarded, he often lashes out and/or uses sarcasm to keep people away. Gray is gently persuasive and the two develop a relationship that burns hot, but steady.

I was completely taken by this story. The men are flawed, but growing and maturing together as they learn to love themselves and each other. The bedroom scenes are beautifully written, whether slow and tender, or raw and desperate. This coming -of-age story is something all of us who have experienced first, real love will remember. It’s all about growth, maturing into your own skin, and falling in true love. The male narrators do an excellent job of adding layers and depth to the telling of this story.

Ahhh, Nicole totally got me with this one 🥰 I am a sucker for a broken boy, and Rhett definitely fits that category.

Rhett and Grayson are the total opposite on paper, but as they get to know each other, they realise that they have a lot more in common than they thought, and as their friendship grows so does their attraction and the results are fire 🔥.

I love Nicoles writing, and this is a perfect example of why I was so engrossed by this story that I couldn't stop listening to it. Nicole writes characters that are so relatable, and you can't help but feel connected to them.

The narrators were amazing for this story and really brought Grayson and Rhett to life in the best possible way, capturing every emotion perfectly
