Summary

The crime thriller series of the year!

Set within the mysterious beauty of the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a dark cozy murder mystery with a slice of humour and a touch of romance, one that will have you guessing until the very end.

The remains of a 17th-century witch, an MP found hanging above a five-pointed star and three girls with powers beyond anyone's control. As DI Tanner and DS Evans endeavour to make plans for their big day, the chance discovery of Norfolk's last known witch, tried and hanged by Norfolk’s infamous Witchfinder General, sparks a chain of the most horrific events, none of which Tanner seems able to prevent.

Excellent

Another gripping book by David Blake and perfectly narrated by Jonathon Keeble! So much suspense and a brilliant yet saddening plot twist. Definitely recommend

The best yet

I have listened to the others in the series and enjoyed them all but this had a couple of twists I couldn’t predict. Plus the biggest bonus is that the series is narrated by Jonathan Keeble who for me could read the phone book and make it interesting and compelling!!!

emotional roller coaster

I have enjoyed all of the DI Tanner books to date, and this one was no exception.

However I do feel the need to add a note of caution without giving away the plot. If you have been in anyway affected by the Grenfell fire please be aware that a similar incident is touched on during the story and may bring back memories of this tragedy!

I feel emotionally drained by the end of the book, where the police work almost took a back seat to the highly charged emotional storyline. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Series getting darker

Quite a depressing listen this one. But the usual twists and turns and fallible characters.

The Saga continues

Another thrilling story in the series expertly written and narrated witchcraft aplomb. Can't wait to start the next book.

Outstanding storytelling in wonderful atmospheric description.

Jonathan's narration of this David Blake's book is as excellent as previous ones. Great scene setting and plausible characterisation make this very enjoyable.

A bitter sweet story ending

Really enjoyed the story although we lost one of the main characters but Jonathan Keeble is an ACE narrator.

Harrowing

well written story which I found for personal reasons quite harrowing, this should only compliment the author on a well written emotive thriller Also the narrator should be mentioned for his excellent narration
