Great, but not the same
While this book did an excellent job closing loose ends from the first book, it left out a lot of what made the first book unique. There were a couple of surprises, but overall I never made it to the edge of my seat. I was disappointed with the lack of interaction anyone had with Marcus, and almost none of the book was from Marcus’s point of view. There was too much jumping from character to character. I loved the first book and I was slightly disappointed with this one. It was mostly well written and the performance was once again fantastic, but I feel like it lacked the unique draw and character that the first one had.

I can’t wait for more!
A great continuation of Marcus‘s story! I found myself enjoying the small slice of life parts far more than the large action scenes, which isn’t a bad thing! If anything it speaks to the quality of the narration and writers skill in making the slow parts gems of the crown that is this book.
This book brings up many questions and cliffhangers that leave me willing to sell a kidney for the answers! I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment!
