Lila Metcalfe is a trainee journalist in Derby and she's very used to being given the stories that no one else wants. Gorgeous story

Just so well written. Fabulous twists and turns that make you lose faith in humanity but then a turn of events restore your faith! Connor was captured so well and his frustrations with the world were portrayed well. His inner dialogue and constant need to emotionally regulate really help us understand his struggles and triumphs.

This is the first time I have read a book by this author. Don’t want to give away the plot, yet this is an excellent story and will relate to many in different ways.

Enchanting story - brilliant

This is a weird one. I liked the characters and having an insight into the mind of a person with ASD, but found the whole concept too far fetched. I am not sure Connor gets the happy ending people seem to think he got, but at least he gets closure. The narration was very good. This is the third of the more recent Mike Gayles I have listened to in a short space of time, starting with The Man I think I know, followed by Half a world away, there seems to be a diminishing return on listening to them.
