Summary

Shame holds onto a past that haunts him. He was damaged by the parents that should have taught him unconditional love; they imprisoned him with violence and disregard. Even now, Shame struggles to find both the independence and love he deserves.

Knowing the blood that runs through him is stained merely by reputation, Hem seeks acceptance while he searches for ways to redeem himself in the eyes of those that have judged him his entire life.

Together the two have committed themselves to one purpose: protecting those they love the most.

Mace Cash is Hem's younger sister. Although they share the same mother, Mace's father despises Hem and his position within the family.

Sadey Lyons has loved Hem all of her life. Swearing to save herself for him, she's determined to wait for him for as long as it takes; wanting only for him to see her as the woman she has become and not the little girl he's always cherished.

When Hem and Shame meet Doc, the president of the Lights of Peril Motorcycle Club, their lives take a dramatic turn. Finally escaping from a past that has controlled them, they find themselves living free. But neither of them has known peace for long....

REALLY REALLY ENJOYABLE AND ACTION PACKED

This story is full of content and details which annoys me sometimes however with this story I understand why it is written this way. This story is great. It's my kind of hot sex and alpha male characters that I love. Now there is a cliffhanger which is why I waited to review until book two was out. I know you will love it. I had to adapt to the female narration but by the third or fourth chapter I was loving it. Worth the credit.

The worst

I really wanted to love this book, but it sucked on so many levels. The dialogue was boring and repetitive. The female characters were ditzy and blind in the ways that make women cringe over our own sex. The men were stupid. Many refer to them as alpha men, but I just read it as boys trying to be tough but doing it without the brains to make it look good, or to be sexy.

There are a lot of great reviews for this book which is why I chose it, and I gave it a good chance (got 1/2 way) but I couldn’t finish. I don’t often leave written reviews, but this book was so bad I had to get out my frustrations. Don’t waste your time.

Excellent

I enjoyed this book tremendously. The characters were strong and raw in their emotions. It had a good balance of the hard biker life and the deep love for their family. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Unable to finish.

There are so many problems with this story. The female lead is incredibly stupid and the timeline is completely out of synch.

OMG, I was not expecting that, I should have had a box of tissues ready! I have not cried like a baby over a read in a LONG TIME!!!

There was some violence, some unexpected turns, but I did not expect to cry like I did.

Great Author, Great Narrators -on to the next book in the series!

This amazing story needs to be heard time and time again

I don't even know where to start. I have read this series so many times. I can honestly say that this book has had my heart from day one. This was the first series to make me ugly cry every single time I read it so of course listening to I sobbed even more.

Yes there are some sad parts but there are so many parts that touch my heart I have to cry.

The characters are so real to me I feel like I know Shame and Hem. They are everyday people living life and protecting those they love.
