In Heroes Beneath the Waves, many brave men who rode submarines to great depths and across the oceans into unknown territory share their experiences, fears, and thoughts. They allow us to travel back in time through their memories. Those who returned home as young men were older and wiser. Heroes Beneath the Waves was written to honor these men - gallant heroes - who served and are serving today on submarines.

Worst audiobook I've ever heard
Audible has a policy which requires you to listen to a certain amount of a book before being able to leave a review. while this is great in it prevents blatant abuse of the system, it also prevents terrible books from being reviewed in most cases... It's so bad you can't continue, yet it won't let you review. seeing a 7 year old audiobook in the plus category with ZERO reviews is a major red flag.
Firstly this is no reflection on the narrator. if you are given a phone directory to read aloud, it's gonna be a dull listen, no matter how good your narrator is.
I also really enjoy books covering these genres (war, cold war, ww2, submarines, navy, military etc) so this should have been right up my straight.
"He came down the tower, and then he moved to the side, and then he turned around, and then he looked over, and then he did this, and then that..." this is such a painful way to tell a story, it just doesn't flow. I forced myself to listen to the first few chapters, hoping it might ease up a bit as the writer got going, but it didn't. I got literally nothing from the book, besides frustrated. I have never heard an audiobook even nearly as bad as this. I'm genuinely shocked that something of this poor quality is even on audible. I'm sure the author, with just a little bit of coaching, would be able to tell the stories in a much more interesting way, where the writing flows.
