Summary

I never meant to be here: tied up in bed next to a serial killer. When I followed him home, I was just playing Nancy Drew. Trying to find out his secret. His kiss was intoxicating, and I thought he was harmless. I was wrong. Nancy Drew never ended up in a basement, handcuffed to a radiator, teased to the edge of insanity, begging to be let go. Soon I stopped begging to be let go. Soon I started begging to be his.

Good if you don't look to deep.

I enjoyed this how do you. It was easy to follow and the story was quick. It was predictable and a little blasé at times. If you enjoy a story where there's a dark obsessive need for a woman who has no other choice but to submit with out much work from her captor and does so quickly than this is the story for you. There were points in the story where I found it needed a little more explanation. Then narrator was good. I just enjoy a little more dark in my dark reads.

Not awful

Completely unrealistic - that’s sort of something you expect in any romance novel but this one takes it to the extreme. Be prepared to turn all semblance of logic and likelihood off before you start. If you can get past the falling for a serial killer with a moral compass bit, you have what you get in any standard dark romance. Some kinky somewhat reluctant sex and a totally unbelievable HEA.

+5 star narration & a unique story

STORY: 2.75 stars
PERFORMANCE: +5 stars
OVERALL: 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars

HIS is the unlikely love story of a serial killer and a librarian. In HIS, Ms. Dark takes us off the path leading to the typical abduction turns romance story by changing things up just a tad. In addition to creating a unique story, I was very impressed with the way Ms. Dark brought the uncommon characters to life. Without excessive or large amounts of content or terminology overtly describing either of the main characters, Dark's characters were so well-developed that I could picture them in my mind, I felt connected to them and I wanted them to succeed.

Despite all of the positive factors about this book, unfortunately there were several negative aspects to it as well. For me, what detracted from this book most were the unrealistic and unlikely things the characters did and/or said. I understand that this is fiction yet far-fetched events and actions detract from the believability of the story. Overall, I was entertained and did enjoy this book. I'm actually jumping straight into MINE (the next book in this series) right now!

I listened to this Audible audiobook and have nothing but positive things to say about narrator Carly Robins. She was absolutely superb and I will be seeking out more books narrated by her in the future!

The story was awesome, if you like the audiobook no male for the male voice 👎🏾

This book actually surprised me! Now if you listen to the audiobook you won’t like the woman who simply just reads the male and female parts in the book. It’s written as a Duet and it REALLY should be read as a Duet. Yet, I will say I enjoyed the story enough that I was able to stick it out.

The female was unique, different, and I loved that. She wasn’t your typical fall at the hero’s feet type of girl which made sense him being a serial killer and all. Still, she was able to overcome some of the challenges and obstacles that stood between them.

The hero was beautiful and complicated but definitely NOT perfect🤔....You’re able to route for him, wanting him to become a better man, while empathizing with the man he’s become.

The chemistry between the two was hot! 😜😋🥰Making the sexy even better....I couldn’t get enough..😂😂 It was raw, real, and a very well written story. All in all not bad for a serial killer romance....Not bad at all👍🏽

Wow!!

Okay, I loved this book And if you can understand and appreciate true darkness then you will too. I have so much appreciation for how this story doesn’t overlap the erotic with the pain too much. Sure the main characters both have deep dark desires but they are not confused with the pain suffering and death that make this story so riveting

However if violence, murder and suicide are topics that trigger you please don’t listen to this story.

brilliant

When this started I wasn't sure i wanted to finish it. It is a very different romance than what I have listened to in the past. I wasn't I wanted to listen to something that I could see how there could be a HEA. No spoilers though. You will need to listen for yourself to see how it ends. Carly Robins did an amazing job narrating. This story was brilliantly written!

Wanted to like this book

I liked the story but i do not think the narrator was a good choice. For the fenale she was fine but she made the man sound like a tool. He is supposed to be a big, sexy, intimidating guy. Unfortunate:(

Needed a guy narrator

I liked the story. it would have been better with a guy and girl narrating. other than that it was a good story.
