Summary

Are you highly sensitive?

This book will help you understand the dynamics of emotion and dominate feelings, making them cooperate in your service. We must not repress, but know that we are made wonderfully.

Features:

Since children, the highly sensitive are very intuitive, generous and show a tendency to perfectionism present even in adulthood, so they often have high expectations about what they do.

The instinct of protection for the weakest, the anger towards injustices together with the profound connection with emotions, one's own and those of others, make the highly sensitive an excellent observer of the world, able to immediately perceive situations of discomfort and give to the another what he needs.

"Highly Sensitive People generally live life so differently than most people around them that they often carry a sense of diversity, strangeness, and misunderstanding that can cause a lot of suffering and a sense of marginalization," explains Dr. Elena Lupo, Psychologist, and Psychotherapist with Biosystemic specialization with clinical activity in Bologna.

Excellent sensitivity, in many cases, is also leather! Through psychosomatic diseases, the epidermis, which distinguishes the thin border between us and others, becomes the channel in which stress, sense of danger, and anxiety are manifested.

This guide will help you to discover and enhance certain aspects that only highly sensitive people can perceive.

Book contents:

  • Characteristic and traits of a highly sensitive person.
  • The facts about being highly sensitive.
  • Secret benefits of being a highly sensitive person.
  • Advice on raising a highly sensitive child.
  • Sensory overload.
  • High sensitivity is everyone problem.

Horrific narration.

I tried twice to listen to this as reviews were good!!! A 4.9!!!!
How did that happen? I'm thinking people have been paid to review this!
It was impossible, not just the
US accent but the delivery and content were reminiscent of a American 1950s dodgy commercial.
Save yourself a credit and your sensitive sanity and listen to a book that will give you more perspective like the amazing 'Primate Changed which I've just finished.

Informative

Very informative audiobook, full of explanations and clarifications. Not a lot of practical exercises unfortunately just some generic advice on the last chapters. Would have appreciated to find more. Despite this, the book is perfect and recommended for those who want to start with a good knowledge and understanding of the subject.

Good, very insightful...

Some technical issues where the sound dropped out and narration speed wouldn’t set correctly, I had to switch between my Mac and iPhone to overcome the various issues.

Good but too long

Points and information given by the author are very good and useful, however each chapter has a lot of repitition. The whole point could have fit into 1h otherwise

This book is so insightful and explains the thinki

A few subjects are somewhat redundant and I question the non-touchy will"get" this book. This book contains a few hints, apparatuses and procedures on the best way to effectively create affect ability and use in regular day to day existence.

Surprising and Freeing

My daughter suggested I listen this book. She had identified herself as an HSP and was curious to find out if I did myself. I was stunned! The author was saying things about me that I had thought were JUST me and had no idea that there were people out there who were like me. Take the self test to see if you find any of the traits familiar. If so, listen the book.

helps me to appreciate me better!

I have been buying and reading books about introverts, which I am. Those have helped me learn to like me better. One of those recommended this book. I had resisted buying it (figured it would make me feel labeled weird), but I did. I wish now I had found this a long time ago. Now I can understand those feelings of being an 'oddball' in my family, school and life in general. Being an introvert is a challenge, but an HSP is a whole different ballgame. I now understand (better) why certain situations, certain people, LOUD NOISE,SMELLS,LIGHTS can make me feel as if Im gonna come out of my skin!! I can deal with loud, noisy groups of people only so long. This book will be a lot of help, just in daily living. She writes this as easy to grasp too. Thank you for this book!!

Highly insightful and thought provoking

I found a description of my life in this book. I like others wish I'd had access to these insights during my high school years.

Eye opening and informative!

I knew that I was more sensitive than most but I didn't realize that it is actually a benefit to me and others and not a detriment. This book helped me put all my life's pieces together. I see now why I am the way I am. Now I will embrace my sensitivity and enhance it instead of working against myself like I have been taught to do for most of my life. Thankful that I read this and I recommend it to anyone.

Very validating book!

This was an excellent book for normalizing my sensitivity to the environment, people, and emotions. It was very validating and informative. As a therapist who works with children who have disabilities, it helped me understand their sensitivities too. A great book for professionals (teachers, counselors, therapists, etc) and parents.

Great book, easy to listen.

Barely read the first chapter and I already love this book.
It even has a quiz at the beginning of the book for you to take.
If you're like me, where people are always telling you that you're "too shy, too sensitive, too quiet, complaining about little things," I definitely recommend this book. And even if you're not a sensitive person, I think this book will help you learn a lot about people that are.

A great mental shift

Insightfull , for anyone struggling to connect with others and feel they don't belong. Anyone with Asperger's , this might change your perspective. The narrator can cause some over stimulation, just dile down the speed and volume of his voice.
