Summary
Einst waren Drachen die Herrscher der Erde und die Könige der Lüfte. Vern, ehemals unter dem Namen "Lord Highfire" verehrt und gefürchtet, ist der Letzte seiner Art. Deprimiert hat er sich in die Sümpfe Louisianas zurückgezogen, wo er seine Tage mit Wodka und schlechten TV-Serien verbringt.
Seine Einsamkeit wird jedoch gerstört, als er eines Tages dem 14-jährigen Squib begegnet. Gerade als Vern beginnt, sich mit Squibs Anwesenheit in seinem Leben abzufinden, wird dieser von einem korrupten Polizisten entführt und der Mafia übergeben. Vern beschließt, den Menschen eine Lektion zu erteilen. Schließlich ist er immer noch der mächtigste Drachenlord, den es je gegeben hat...
