Story
People love easily. Look at most of your relatives or coworkers. How lovable are they? Really? Yet most have mates and children. The vast majority are still invited to family gatherings and their relatives will speak to them. Many have pets to which they are devoted. Some even call them their fur-babies. Is your dog or cat or parakeet property or family? Not in law but in your heart? Can a pet really love you back? Or is it a different affection? Are you not kind to those who feed and shelter you? But what if your dog could talk back? Would your cat speak to you kindly?

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Summary
Two years after the events of Alien Night on Union Station, Kelly faces new challenges as the EarthCent Ambassador. The growing acceptance of humans by their alien neighbors plus a measure of her own personal fame (or infamy) is resulting in too much work for an embassy with only two full-time staffers. Friends and family must wonder if the stress is finally getting to Kelly when she starts acting even more peculiar than usual. Just leave it to the Stryx to throw a monkey wrench in the works by offering her a vital new assignment that can't be refused.

So Comforting
Any additional comments?
This series is still going strong and has solidified itself in my mind as an easy go to and an easy recommendation to others.
Rather than each book following a set formula, Foner introduces new characters and ages old ones so as to keep it from getting stale. Then, on top of that, each plot is completely different, albeit still slice of life at its base. This may seem simple or dumb, but stop and think about some series you've read, I'll wait. Same basic formula with a little character growth thrown in, usually to make them more gritty and jaded? Yep.
Speaking of, the character growth in this is rather top notch.
I still strongly recommend this series to anyone who likes light hearted fiction, sci-fi or otherwise.

Wonderful Fun
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I am enjoying these books SO much! I wish they would come out faster, as audible titles.
What did you like best about this story?
The character of the ambassador is brilliant and likeable, as are all of the characters of multi-species extended family, on and off the station. But the thing I like best is the humor. These books make me smile. I am eagerly waiting for the next one to come out as an Audible title.
Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Hollie Jackson has narrated al three of the EarthCent Ambassador series that have come out so far, and she does a delightful job.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I try my very best with this series to make them last as long as possible, but I ended up listening all the way through in two or three days. It is hard to restrain myself, as I want to know what will happen next. Good stuff never lasts as long. ;-)
Any additional comments?
E. M. Foner is a wonderful, entertaining writer, and I hope that she/he? keeps up the good work. I know that there must be a great many people enjoying this writing as much as I.
