Slightly disappointing

Having read all of this series this one was a bit far fetched and the storyline much more predictable than its predecessors. I will still purchase the next one though and look forward to a return to the usual excellent storylines and fuller characters.

I adore M J Arlidge books

What made the experience of listening to Hide and Seek the most enjoyable?

I've read all of the Helen Grace series in old school book format and have been utterly gripped by his style of writing. The narrator was good but not quite how I'd imaged Helen Grace to sound. I wanted her to be a bit more feisty.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Who can not love Helen the lead!

What about Elizabeth Bower’s performance did you like?

She was ok, but in my head I'd imagined the narrator having more of an impact on me as the lead character is so compelling in the book series.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Bit of a tough cookie so extremely unlikely to cry at a book. But I was gripped and cannot wait for the next in the series. I'm just keen to know what will happen next and how Helen manages to over come what ever is thrown at her.

Any additional comments?

M J Arlidge please keep them coming......

Love this series

Superbly read and continued the story extremely well. I was a little worried after the last story where this would go but MJ Arlidge has continued this superbly. Fantastic series and very well read.

Great - but...

... not as good as the previous 5. It finished the story off nicely, but equally, not the best. However, in saying that, I still enjoyed it and I love the style of writing. It's certainly another enjoyable book my Arlidge. The narration is excellent!

A page turner!

Not that original but I enjoyed it and I stayed up to hear the ending.... A good listen whilst driving or doing chores.

Arlidge never fails to deliver

Another amazing book from the author, and a really great narration too. Pleasure to listen. It almost felt too short 👍😁

Makes you think.

Lots of occasions when I expected a different outcome but the twists and turns were believable and kept me listening when my priorities should have been elsewhere. The portrait of a womens' prison with all the suspicions and gangster type behaviour was truly frightening as was the fact that even when truth and honesty triumph in the end, a trail of nightmare memories can be left behind.

First long haul book!

Very good book, very thrilling . I kept in the book 99% of the time and it became quite addictive , penguin books tend to have the best readers. The detail in this book allows your imagination to recreate and bring a strong visual representation of the book to your mind. The twist is a good twist but not too sharp so you aren't left confused. Will look for another good penguin book as this was my second.
