Summary

The Devil in her...

Mara Reed's been stirring up trouble since she was 18 - running scams, living on the edge, always on the run. Now, when two thugs are after her with murder on their minds, she's forced into hiding in her small Texas hometown. But cornered in an alley, only seconds from death, an unexpected rescuer comes to her aid - Dr. Ethan Stuart, the dark and beautiful scientist whose heart she once broke and betrayed....the only man Mara ever loved.

A forensic anthropologist, Ethan is investigating a gruesome discovery - nearly 100 dead bodies dating back 50 years - a mystery linked to the church once headed by Mara's father. Ethan needs Mara's help; she needs his protection. And their search for a shocking, devastating truth could lead them to forgiveness, salvation, passion, and back to love... if they can survive the journey.

Very exciting and compelling story

The book started rushed and hurried and at first I found it hard to keep up. Wasn’t sure if I was going to finish. But then it slowed a bit, allowing me to not only catch my breath, but giving me the opportunity to really meet Mara. She was such an interesting heroine. She was strong, while also weak and unsure of herself. I really liked her. I also like the Doc. Theirs was a sad and lovely story. And romantic as hell. This was a very good book that was hard to put down. I hated when it came to an end.

Kim Staunton’s narration, as always, was terrific. I picked this book because of Ms. Staunton and was not let down. Bravo, again.

Too dragged out

The story was too dragged out. I lost interest after all the repeated thoughts, feelings and feta

A Good Story

I enjoyed this read. I was impressed with the puzzle of figuring out how Greek lettering and religion combined to finding a secret treasure. The characters were not over the top and believable and the love scenes were steamy. The performance was excellent!! I would recommend this one for a weekend or even a vacation read.
