Summary

Sawyer LaGrange.

He’s my best friend’s older brother. He’s quiet, brooding, sinfully sexy.... Dark hair, a scruffy square jaw, and deep lines of muscle I trace my fingers along slowly, followed by my lips.... He always does what’s right. Until me... They say you get in life what you have the courage to ask for. Well, I’m brave. And I want him.

Secrets.

Everybody has them. Big, small, innocent...forbidden. Mindy was a line I should never have crossed. But I did. She was beautiful...sassy and tempting. And rules were made to be broken. We broke them all. Now I’m home, released from service with hidden scars. Now my secrets are the demons that grow stronger every day. I try to send her away, but I can’t let her go. She’s my reason to fight, and I’ll walk through hell to be the man she deserves. To give her a reason to stay here with me.

(Here with Me is a stand-alone best friend’s older brother, second-chance, military romance. No cheating. No cliff-hangers.)

Mindy and Sawyer!

As a teenager Sawyer and his siblings endured a devastating loss and any dreams he had for the future had to be put on hold as he wasn’t only responsible for his siblings but responsible for the family orchard which was their only source of income. When he was finally able to pursue his dream of being a SEAL he served his country proudly but returned a changed man and the only person who help the demons away was his sister’s best friend Mindy.

Mindy has loved Sawyer since she was a child and she there for him whenever he needed someone the most. She can’t imagine her life without him and just when she thinks she is finally going to get the happy ever after she has always dreamed about it is taken away and she is left picking up the pieces.

This is a heartbreaking and inspiring story about a love that is bent by distance, both physically and emotionally, but in the end proved itself unbreakable. This story will make you laugh and it will make you cry as you become completely invested in not only Sawyer and Mindy but the secondary characters as well. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought that the narrators couldn’t have been a more perfect match both for the characters and the emotion and humor of the story.

So good!

Oh wow!! After reading Noel and Taron’s story in Wait for me, I was so excited to find out that Tia was writing Sawyer’s book next. I couldn’t wait to get a glimpse behind the scenes of Sawyer Legrange. He was always so quite and broody! And to find out his love interest was Mandi!! I loved her from the first book, she was Noel’s best friend. This book was so deep and emotional! I hated the way Sawyer struggled with his PTSD. I hated how it came between the two! I had such great chemistry together and just knew that had to find a way to make it!
Loved the dual POV. I enjoy getting into the mind of both of the main characters. And I enjoyed getting updates on all the character from Wait with Me. Although both of the stories can be read as a standalones, I highly recommend reading both of them!
I read and listened to the audiobook! The narrators were amazing!! Hope we get more from this series!! Maybe we can get Deacon’s or Leon’s story next!!

Love can heal old wounds

This is such a great make you feel series. They each have the past they are fighting to live with as well as present day struggles that the strong women that love them help them get through. This is Sawyer and Mindy's story and it starts a long time ago when they were young and innocent and grows into adulthood where the world around them gets complicated. Mindy is friends with Sawyer's little sister and she is also several years younger than him but her love for him is still strong. Sawyer is the head of the family after they lost their parents and he holds all the responsibility of keeping the orchard and everything else running properly. He is also fighting his demons from his time in the service and he can't seem to let it all go. Can he heal and keep Mindy or will he have to let her go to become the man she needs him to be?

So many emotions in this book. Sweet tender times and heart wrenching make you tear up at others. I love all the feels and I love all the characters in this story. These books are written as a standalone but the characters carry over to each book in the series so you get to catch back up with old friends.

Patrick Zeller and Emma Wilder do a great job as Mindy and Sawyer. Emma has that sweet southern charm and Patrick has the southern, broody, hot Sawyer down perfect.

I loved this audiobook and highly recommend it.

FANTASTIC!!!

Here with Me was pure perfection! I adored the sweet story that brought me back to first loves and all the sweetness and heartbreak that comes with it. Tia Louise has this was of building up an amazing story while giving her characters flawlessly flawed. I love when characters aren't perfect, when the characteristics build up and create a person similar to people I like to spending time with. Mindy and Sawyer were fighting this strong and assertive chemistry for so long. However, what really pulled me to them was the friendship they shared. There was a special bond between them. They knew that they could always count on the other. I

Mrs. Louise is one of my favorite authors for a reason. I find myself reading her words and feeling connected to the people and the situations. I'm always so obsessed with the small town charm and romance Tia Louise writes about. It's a sweet and wholesome feeling but there's still this sexy chemistry that you get. I think I say it every time but I'm obsessed with Tia Louise. It's everything about her books... the words, the characters, the situations, THE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS. I just feel it all! She makes me laugh and cry! I feel an overwhelming contentment that only a Tia Louise book can give!

The narrators were amazing!!Emma Wilder is one of my favorite female narrators and I know I'm always going to get an amazing performance with her. Patrick Zeller doesn't seem familiar to me but that didn't matter in the least. He was an excellent Sawyer!!

Loved

Here With Me was a sweet love story that will warm your heart. Tia Louise brings her characters to life, embedding them into your heart. I read the book and listened to the audio. The narrators took the story and brought it to life. I loved Patrick Zeller as Sawyer and Emma Wilder as Mindy.

Wretched...

The concept for this story was superb, the actual content, however, was wretched. I wonder if the author thought this book would not sell unless it was filled with unnecessary, very detailed, explicit sexual encounters. They cheapened the story, which could have unfolded so beautiful if the author could have trusted the invested readers to imagine the sex in their minds. Instead, she had to spell out every detail, every single detail, making this more of a porno story than a romance. This could have been a blockbuster read/listen...but the very detailed sex detracted from the characters' individuality and the singleness they created when together. Disappointed on so many levels...

Good Ending

First of all...what is the deal with all the characters in this series sneaking through windows into their 20s-30s...weird! Second, I didn’t know who I wanted to strangle more in this book...Sawyer or Mindy. I know Sawyer had issues to work through but dang, he was horrible to Mindy for so much of this story. And Mindy...she let him mistreat and neglect her feelings for years with no backbone. This kind of ongoing weakness drives me nuts! Third, the lack of communication was so juvenile. And why so much secrecy? I mean, there was nothing to hide and everyone, including all their family members, would have been supportive and super excited for them from the first time romantic feelings manifested. I felt frustrated reading a lot of this book. This is definitely not Tia Louise’s best work. All said, narration was great. Also, there was some redemption toward the end as the storyline improved exponentially. Wonderful epilogue! Worth a credit? Not sure - maybe you don’t have the same pet peeves as me 🤷‍♀️

Great story, but the female narrator’s voice grated on me

This was a great story, and I thought the male narrator did a wonderful job portraying Sawyer. The female narrator’s male voice was great, but I didn’t like her female character’s voice. It sounded like she was always nervous, fearful, and on the verge of a panic attack even when the character was supposed to be happy. That is the reason for the 3 rating on performance and a 4 instead of a 5 overall.

Such a powerful story

Extreme emotions, family, forgiveness, and the best kinds of friendship. I loved this story along with Taryn and Noel’s story. Looking forward to reading the HEA of the ancillary characters in these books.

Narration was amazing too!!

Beautiful story.

Here With Me is a beautiful story. This book isn’t one to rush through, savor the words. The hero, Sawyer has been through a lot of tragedy on top of PTSD. There are so many things to learn from reading this book about veterans, it’s an eye opener for me. It’s well written, the plot isn’t rushed and the characters are so loving and supportive. Beautiful book.

Weak superficial story & terrible female narrator

Forced myself to finish, but quit close to the end. The male narrator is good, but can't save the bad predictable story & weak shallow characters. The lady narrator is enfuriating - too breathy and puts too much of the save emotion in every word. Really terrible.
