Summary

The heat is on when a curse Viking clashes with the woman of his dreams.

Over a thousand years ago, a witch hexed four charming Viking brothers, each with one of the four elements. They live with these curses today, doomed to suffer for their past crimes forever.

Mikkel just might be too hot to handle. He's an immortal Viking, cursed to burst into an uncontrollable ball of fire when enraged. After centuries of tragedy, Mikkel fears the fury within him will endanger anyone he lets get too close.

When Joanna--a smart, sexy engineer angry at the world--explodes into his life, Mikkel can't resist her smoldering allure. Has the time finally come to let someone in and embrace the fire? Or will they be scorched by their fiery passion?

This mature romance includes incendiary bar room shenanigans, high-speed car escapades, and a love strong enough to heal even the most damaged of hearts.

This STANDALONE novella is part of the "Her Elemental Viking" series which can be read in any order. There are no cliffhangers, and each short ends as it should: happily ever after.

Note - Each book in the Her Elemental Viking series stands on its own and can be listened to in any order.

Her Fiery Viking

I had a hard time getting into this book because of the narrator, Audrey Lusk. I will try again at a later date. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Excellent

This was a good fast listen. My biggest complaint with the book is that it left me wanting more. On the other side of that, I listened to this book in one sitting. It is perfect for a long road trip. If you enjoy tales of Vikings (with a twist of course) and enjoy a romance, pick up this book; you won't regret it!

Not enough paranormal for me

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily
left this review.

This one was a bit of a miss for me. Mostly because, for a paranormal romance, there just didn't seem to be that much paranormal stuff happening. Yes, the male lead character is immortal, but it just felt... uninteresting to me. It was more the fear of what he could do, instead of him actually doing things. The focus was more on the relationship side of the story and them dealing with their baggage. Just wasn't what I enjoy. If you like stories that deal more with the emotions and relationships, you'd probably really like it. As for narration, it was decent. Not the best I've ever heard, but FAR from the worst.

Fiery Viking

Interesting Story- quite unique. I liked that the characters were both working through something in which they could relate. I liked the paranormal glimpse we got but wish there would have been more. I think this book is perfect for the romance package- a short interesting read.

I was a little torn on the narration. Narration itself was good but the voice just felt off for the characters. That being said, it was clear and articulate. I just didn't feel it was a good match in this story.

One Raging Viking + One Raging Woman = Combustion

After his wife and kids were killed Mikkel became one very angry Viking who was hexed by a witch over a 1,000 years ago. After being cursed whenever Mikkel's anger gets out of control he becomes a fireball incinerating everything and one around him, The curse also includes immortality until the curse is lifted.

Joana ia a modern day woman fighting her own inner rage and anger cumulating from the death of her beloved sister by a drunk driver.

Both Mikkel (Mike) and Joana work in demolitions as a why to channel their rage.

Can they help each other control their anger. They are attracted to each other. Will Joana's love cure Mike?

This was a nice short listen. Not a great book but enjoyable.

Ahhh, I Needed More!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a complete short story with no cliffhangers. Even though this is a short story, it does contact interesting characters, action and some intense sexual scenes.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would loved for this story to have been a bit longer. I really like the plot, and the sexual tension between the sexy cursed Viking, Mikkel, and the sexy engineer, Joana, and how he saves her in the nick of time. However, I felt if some of the scenes were expanded it would have made this an awesome read.

Did Audrey Lusk do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

This was the first story I heard narrated by Audrey Lusk, and thought she did a decent job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were no moments that actually move me but there were some scenes I really enjoyed. What happened in the back of the bar was "hot" and what happened to Joanna before the building exploded.

Any additional comments?

One of Tipton's best stories yet.........

I have read and enjoyed many of AJ Tipton's paranormal novellas, but I think that Her Fiery Viking is my favorite. This story has only light elements of world building and the paranormal, so it could be enjoyed by anybody that likes a good love story. Her Fiery Viking is essentially a story of two people hurt by the tragic loss of those closest to them, and this has given them both almost uncontrollable and dangerous tempers. Logically, Mikkel and Joanna would seem the worst possible combination with their equally intense anger at the world, but the exact opposite proves to be true. The chemistry between them burns bright, but the caring between them seems to lessen the anger and frustration that was their constant companion in the past. As always, Tipton throws in a some truly steamy scenes as well as some extremely funny situations. Just picture these two and their inner dialogue while attending a court mandated anger management session...............

Audrey Lusk's narration is excellent. I find her voice a little annoying, but I must give her credit for a flawless performance and a skilled delivery. Overall, this is a very enjoyable audiobook production, and I plan to listen to the next in the series soon.

Her Fiery Viking

This was a quick workplace romance with one main character that is a cursed viking. I thought this was going to have a more paranormal aspect to it but it didn't really show itself until the end. I liked it but I wished the author had made it a little bit longer and fleshed out the characters and their relationship more. I think the storyline has a lot of potential. This was a good afternoon listen with a couple of hot moments and it wraps up neatly without cliffhanger.

The narrator did a good job in this performance.
