About this listen

Death is not destined to unite our species, but Fate is a fickle bitch.

My parents' marriage united the five elements by bringing a death walker to the throne. No wolf was able to contest their power with my mother at his side—especially after she gave birth to twins.

Ryker was destined to succeed my father as the king of the Spirit Wolves after the War Games, but a surprise orc attack leaves him unfit to rule.

Enter me, the discarded hybrid wolf with the touch of death in her veins.

A relaxing visit to the pack turns into a royal matchmaking tour, leaving me to watch as my quiet life turns into a political nightmare.

My father believes he’s securing the future of our wolves by elevating me to the throne, but there’s something he doesn’t know.

I am Death Incarnate, and I will destroy any threat to our people—even him.

I appreciated that this was a complete story in one shot however the whole story felt very rushed and quick. I felt like we never got to know the characters fully and their exploits were done and over just as they felt like they started. I really liked the premise of the book but the whole thing felt rushed and more like an outline for a lengthy series than just a singular book. I’m hoping maybe the author will come back to the book and flush it out more and turn it into a series.

This story ended up being interesting, but I’ll admit it’s not going down as one of my favorite RH stories. Primarily because it took a direction with regards to mates that didn’t sit right with me. I won’t say too much because I feel readers/listeners should have the chance to experience it for themselves and draw their own conclusions, but it left me feeling less than satisfied and things just felt unbalanced. I also found that when it came to the narration of the story, there were some words and names in particular that the narrators pronounced differently. Now while I’m used to chalking it up to different parts of the world say things differently, in this case it felt like the names in particular the narrators and their vastly different pronunciation sometimes took me out of the moment and had me wondering who they were talking about. I felt like it was problematic and could have been solved by maybe consulting the author and then at least both of them would have been saying it the same way even if us listeners would have said it differently in our real lives. All in all, the storyline and pacing were interesting enough to want to finish and see it through once I started. I just found myself wishing certain things had been done differently.

This book is non stop. There’s a lot of important characters that you will need to concentrate on in the beginning. Once you know who is who it’s a lot easier to follow! A brilliant performance,

Her Elemental Mates is a paranormal werewolf romance. I had mixed feelings about this novel. The plot was interesting and grabbed my attention, but as the tale progressed, it got a bit confusing at times as there were some inconsistencies. The storyline with Orwell had me perplexed as I couldn't figure out how he went from good guy to bad guy in the blink of an eye.

In addition, it felt like the story was repeating itself at certain parts as it was the same thing happening every time she visited a new kingdom.

For me, the characters felt very young, and I didn't care for the fated mate/true mate storyline.

This was my first book by this author, but I will try other books by her.

I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by Griswold Addams and Lacey Anthony. It was a bit of a hit and miss at certain points, but they did try to infuse emotions and drama into the story and that did help make it easier to finish the story.
