Critic reviews

“I have been delivering babies for over twenty years, and I can’t tell you how many baby-care books have passed across my desk. I can’t remember a single one that compares to Help! My Baby Came Without Instructions! This book has incredibly valuable tips for new mothers, things I never would have thought of. I am going to recommend it to all my patients who are about to give birth and I highly and wholeheartedly recommend it to you." (David M. Edinburgh, M.D.; Sharon, MA)

Awful audio presentation too jarring!!!

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

Nobody who is a new parent with sensitive ears and suffering from exhaustion!

What was most disappointing about Blythe Lipman’s story?

Awful audio presentation and the reader sounds about 15!! This is an ingredient it's format with an annoying DING after every 15 seconds at the start of the Audio book, this is insensitively presented at the start but gradually improves!!

I do not recommend the Audio.....
The high pitched dings are too much for exhausted, frazzled mothers or fathers!!!!

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Annalyn Hostert?

Someone who sounds more soothing and doesn't gabble and rush through the content! More mature less teeny sounding voice!

What character would you cut from Help! My Baby Came Without Instructions?

The dinging bell!!!!

Any additional comments?

DONT DOWNLOAD THIS!!!

This is the most irritating audiobook i have ever had the unpleasant experience of listening to. It doesnt read like a book, it is basically a list of instructions, punctuated every 20-30 seconds by an earsplitting PINGG!!!!! noise. I have tried to listen to this for the last half an hour. You know how you are less tolerant of awful noises, and generally more irritable when you are pregnant? Well, this is the last thing you want to have rattling through your brain, believe me. I have tried adjusting the audio options in various ways, but there is basically now way to have the volume loud enough to hear her talking without the bell noise causing significant distress.

As an audiobook advocate, i can say that this does not work at all in the audio format, has no compelling listener experience (because as I said it is basically a list without any narrative), and the publishers should be embarrassed about the ping noise.
