Summary

Stand-alone M/M romance with HEA

You always want what you can’t have.

David. Catholic. Gay. Set on keeping his purity ring.
Raja. Biker. Manwhore. Never refuses a bet.

David has always tried to be the best son his parents could dream of.
Always at church on Sunday.
Always eager to help with the garden.
Always trying his best at school.
Prim, proper, innocent, and kind.

But deep inside of him, there is a yearning planted by the devil himself, and when a cocky, foul-mouthed biker pulls him a step too far, David doesn’t fall into the abyss. He leaps.

Raja is all he’s ever dreamed of, yet didn’t dare voice. Older, dangerous, a wall of muscle with a grip so strong David can’t resist him no matter how hard he tries.

As a freshly appointed president of a motorcycle club on the verge of ruin, Raja has a lot to live up to. Being gay doesn’t do him any favors in terms of commanding the respect of his men. He has his way of compensating though.
Always first in a fight.
Always bragging about his sexual conquests.
Always up for a bet.
Daring, tattooed, sexy, and unapologetic.

After he boasts he can have any man he wants, he gets challenged to hook up with the preppy guy wallflowering at a party. Raja can’t wait to pop the innocent cutie’s cherry. But when he finds out the guy is his friend’s younger brother, life gets a whole lot messier.

Why is the one guy who should be off-limits always the most tempting?

Genre: M/M romance, suspense

Thrilling and Steamy

David and Raja seemed like an unlikely pairing at the start, but as I listened to their delightfully steamy romance unfold, their hidden compatibility shone through. Wyatt Baker's narration has been amazing for this whole series, and I can't say enough good things about how he brought these men to life. The contrast between Raja's sexy biker voice and David's innocence gave me shivers, and it was thrilling to see David get lured away from his sheltered lifestyle and embrace his sexuality. Compared to the rest of this series this story was lighter on the danger and violence, but that only put an even bigger spotlight on the intoxicating romance. Even though David was eager to submit to Raja, I loved that he wasn't a total pushover in the rest of their interactions. It was David's unwavering desire to be more than just a hookup with Raja that led to their deepening emotional connection, which transformed this story from a bit of fun to a romance I couldn't put down. With plenty of mayhem going on in the background, from MC drama to disapproving families, there wasn't a single dull moment in this story.

Two total opposites!

Raja is the total opposite of David, and yet they match. Breaking all the rules they get together and it’s explosive. Loved it so much. I am sure this is my favorite in the series.

Another winning story

KA Merikan and Wyatt Baker make a great pair. Like that the character feel like real people, flaws and all, maybe a little bit darker than normal but the story has bikers in it. David and Raja were an interesting combination but it worked beautifully, a pleasure to have joined them for their journey. Have not listen to any of the Sex & Mayhem series that did not exceed expectations.

Heart Ripper

K.A. Merikan are firm favourites of mine and I have loved everything that they have published so far including Heart Ripper.
Despite Raj and David’s story not being as dark as many of their other book, this was emotional, funny, steamy with just the right amount of angst you would expect between a good Catholic boy and the openly gay president of a MC.

Another hit!

I really love the authors, their stories are usually a hit or miss but when it's a hit... Boy, it's a hit. Heart Ripper is amazing, the right amount of angst to keep me on my toes, some drama to make me bit my nails and a whole lot of love. It's a character driven kind of story, which I'm not much of a fan, but its well done.

Wyatt Baker is amazing as always, love his narration.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 A Gripping Ride!

This is a great opposites attract type romance set in the Coffin Nails MC world. The story is well written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. The characters are complex and well developed, Raja is the president of the Toledo chapter of the Coffin nails MC, they are a small and newer chapter with only five members, looking to become profitable and expand and become independent. For now they are with the Detroit chapter and while at a party celebrating Hunter and Asty’s new baby Raja is challenged by another member to show how easy it is to pick up a male. Raja caught David staring several times and when he gets him alone he makes his move on him. David is Hunter’s brother, he grew up in a strict catholic home, he is questioning his sexuality and is conflicted because of what he was taught, thinking his straying thoughts are sacrilegious. But the moment Raja has him alone those thoughts go out the window, it all just felt right. His inner turmoil continues after and when he turns to someone he thinks can help it backfires and pushes him further away. So he jumps on an opportunity to get away from his family and goes to stay with his brother Hunter. Raja did not know David was Hunter’s brother and even though he is a man whore he does not get involved with any relatives of club members, so he ignored David’s messages. Then Blade puts an idea in his head and Raja considers it. But when things start to get real between David and Raja he calls all bets off, though it does bite him in the arse down the road. A lot goes on in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance and sexy times. I liked how much David grew by the end of the story and how we got to see the real Raja, the man under his bad persona. K.A. Merikan, thank you for the awesome story and the thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Wyatt Baker did a great job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. His portrayal of each character was spot on and sounding just like I pictured them to sound. He played Raja’s role with perfection, the alpha biker, his David was great too, you could hear his sweetness and naivety. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into his performance. He is an entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen🎧

Wow

This book, I don’t even know where to start to say that this is a hot book is like saying that chocolate is kinda enjoyable. It was hot but also so many sweet and interesting characters. There are so many different personalities and quirks that make this book enjoyable. The series has been amazing so far and this one only makes me want to listen to the rest that I haven’t read so far.

Epic

Wow. They did it again. This book was everything I’ve come to love and expect from K.A. Merikan. Their brains are extremely fascinating and their books are so addictive. You can’t help but love these books and question your sanity at the same time.

Raja and David couldn’t be any more different than they tried. Yet, they were both the missing piece in each other’s complicated puzzle. I loved David’s spirit, and how Raja was sweet deep down—deep, deep down. Their courtship was definitely unique, but I couldn’t have wanted it to be any different.

The writing was top notch, and the characters were a freakin’ hoot! I really like this series, even though I’ve been listening to it in a weird order. I still need to listen to the first two. Even though it’s obvious the side characters have their own books, this story stands proudly on its own. It almost dares you to listen to it that way. Too bad the side characters are just as awesome, so you know you’re gonna need to listen to them as well.

Wyatt Baker is a freaking genius with the narrations of this book. He not only captures each character perfectly, his timing for emotions and humor is spot on. He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators.

Was apprehensive but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Was apprehensive but enjoyed it.

David a sweet innocent Catholic 18 Yr. old boy. Trying to find his place in the world.

Raja. Biker. Indian, Manwhore. Never refuses a bet.

These two have nothing in common apart from David's brother is in the same MC club. And a bet.
But stranger things happen when David didn't get into any colleges but doesn't want to tell his parents. He decides his best bet is to go to the city, live with his brother and get a job.

Working in a flower shop is like his dream job, but what else happens feels like he's living someone else's dream.

For some reason I didn't think I would like this book much, but how wrong was I. I liked the complex drama that surrounded the characters, and the characters themselves.

Well worth the read. I listened to this on audio and liked Wyatt Bakers narration, although I did speed it up to 1.25.

The Jokes on him.

Raja was attending a party to celebrate fellow Coffin Nails MC club member Hunter's baby, Hunter had been a fellow Taledo chapter member but had transferred to another. Raja was bragging about how easy it was to pull any man he wanted when a bet was made regarding the preppy young man across the other side of the garden. It was only later...After he'd won the bet that he learned who he was, when Hunter introduced him to his younger brother David!
MM, Outlaw MC club, Organised crime, religion, homophobia, good boy meets bad boy, coming out, HEA. Wyatt Baker narrated brilliantly.

A steamy opposites attract, age gap romance

This was a steamy, age gap romance, high on the steam and angst.

David and Raja fit so well together and I loved the chemistry between them.

The storyline was engaging and the characters were so real and well sketched out.

The narration was enjoyable and flawless.

Coffin Nails MC

Heart Ripper is book 9 in the Sex & Mayhem series. I really enjoyed this book and of the books I've read/listened to so far in this series. David, an innocent catholic boy, trying to be the good boy for his parents, decides it's time to live life for himself. Raja takes up a bet that he can have his way with David a little, though he has no idea that David is his friend's younger brother or what David will do to him emotionally. I was glad David and his brother remained close and he was able to help David get away from their parents. I really enjoyed David and Raja together, and that Raja was always there for David. They're alike in some ways and that helps with David's internal struggle as he deals with realizing he likes men.
Narrator Wyatt Baker does a marvelous job. I always enjoy his narrations.

OK. OTT plot & SUPERB DIRTY TALK!

This installment of the Coffin Nails MC, was just OK for me.

I found the story wanting reality somewhat, but this is KA Merikan we are talking about & I know that OTT is what I’m getting.

I listened to the audiobook for this...perhaps that was why this was just an OK listen for me. I’ve enjoyed Wyatt Baker in the past, but his performance here isn’t one of his best.

Good points:
Virgin
Eager virgin
Christian eager virgin
DIRTY TALK
Age gap
Cameos from previous books

Could be better:
Lots of Christian talk
Narration

My rec? If you’re this deep in the series, sure.

A Steamy Age-Gap Romance for Raja and David

Raja, the president of a Coffin Nails MC chapter, not able to resist a challenge, bets a fellow member that he can get any person at their party to engage in a sexual act with him. That person ends up being David, an ultra-conservative, uber-religious young man attending the same party. Raja wins the bet, with David’s enthusiastic consent.

What I take away from this story is the journey of self-discovery. David, previously controlled by his church-going parents, is now ready to explore the world on his own terms and discover all that it has to offer. Raja, too, is on his own journey. While not in the closet about his sexuality, he hasn’t allowed himself to experience a relationship. The two of them find their individual true selves by being with each other, despite differing backgrounds.

If all my lovey-dovey gobbledygook hasn’t persuaded you to give this book a try, let me say that Merikan has delivered some absolutely scorching (and filthy) sex scenes, complete with delicious shiver-inducing dirty talk. I don’t write about the sex much in my reviews, but Merikan’s steamy writing is above-par and deserves a mention.

I have come to really enjoy Wyatt Baker’s interpretation of Merikan’s work. I hope this wonderful author/narrator combo continues.

I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and am leaving this voluntary review.

Highly Recommended.

When a good boy be gone bad

I love it when good boys be gone bad. LOL, and K.A. Merikan are expert at making very very good boys turn 180. And this book is as sinfully delicious as the blurb said.

David is an 18 years old virgin Catholic boy who’s on the verge of turning priesthood. And Raja is a newly appointed president of the motorcycle club in Toledo and a very promiscuous man whore. When Raja set his eyes on this innocent little virgin, he really couldn’t wait to pop his cherry. Never did he know, David happened to be the little brother of his very good friend. Ah, the forbidden fruit is always sweeter though.

It’s really sexy and fun. I loved reading how David turned from an innocent little virgin to someone who can compete with Raja in bed. There is some angst but the ending was so satisfactory and sweet. Wyatt Baker also did a great job with narration. It was really enjoyable.

Good addition to the series

I love this series and this book was a good addition to it. It’s a real opposites attract story! Raja is the president of a motorcycle club. He’s a bad boy, a manwhore, and is out and proud. David meanwhile is all buttoned up, innocent and prim and proper. He’s catholic, wears a purity ring and his parents want him to enter the church. Underneath all that is a person who’s itching to break out of these bonds he’s tied up in. When they meet at a party Raja accepts a bet that he can’t get his way with David, Raja being Raja couldn’t pass up on the dare. What he doesn’t realise though is that David is his friend’s younger brother! I really enjoyed the chemistry and connection between these two, it was lovely to see Raja help David open up to who he is as well as his wants, desires and sexuality. Meanwhile David opened Raja up to love and caring for someone.

Wyatt Baker did a great job as narrator.

Sweet and steamy

This is a new author to me and I was not sure whether I would enjoy the story or not. But from the first chapter not only did the story grip me but the narration did as well. David is a church boy whose parents actually want him to enter the seminary. Raja is a bad boy biker will take the bet to try and seduce the sweet David. What Raja couldn’t see was that he met his match in David even though he was so innocent. Raja opened David’s eyes to the lifestyle of a gay man and David opened Raja’s eyes to the lifestyle of caring for someone. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
