Looking at the cover, I assumed this was a recipe book, and yes, there are plenty of recipes. But Farnoosh isn’t playing around – this really is a smoothie bible! Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about healthy smoothies is in here, plus everything you didn’t know you needed to know!

If you squirm at the thought of drinking your spinach, take a deep breath, Farnoosh is here to help. She breaks down the basics of smoothie-making and shares simple steps on how to start building a smoothie habit. She encourages you to find what works for you, to start slowly, and to work to simple ingredient ‘formulas’ (ie fruit + fruit + green) as opposed to a strict recipe. I like that!

If you’re a seasoned smoothie drinker, you’ll still learn plenty of new tricks. I thought I knew green smoothies, but after reading the book I discovered:
+ The importance of switching up your ingredients (I think I was on a banana/bok choy/ginger run for a good 6 months…)
+ Banana and berries aren’t the only fruits that can be frozen. You can freeze chunks of mango, peaches, figs, avocado and pineapple too!
+ You should drink your smoothie SLOWLY. I am a massive culprit for gulping them down.

Overall I thought the author provided helpful information. However, I think the title is a little misleading. Using the word 'Bible' may cause one to think this as an authoritative book on the subject matter. It is written more from the authors own perspective and opinions. Did not agree with everything in the book. There are plenty of good recipes in the book to start your journey at making smoothies. Just remember if you find yourself loving making smoothies you may find yourself looking for more information else where. However, it is a decent book to start with.

OK, so I'm not a huge fan of greens and green juic

OK, so I'm not a huge fan of greens and green juicing. To say the least.
But with this book, I've found a new love for smoothies...even with greens! I call it "drinking a salad" - but it's SO DARN GOOD! It's my pick-me-up in the morning, and sometimes I go for another one at the afternoon just to get re-fueled to finish my dat strong.
I highly recommend this book - it has a recipe for everyone.
What I love most is that Farnoosh answers every question i might think of - it's like she's in my head, and every time I get a question - there she is, answering it in the book. Absolutely amazing!
Try it- you'll never look back:)

I could not have selected a better book to start m

I could not have selected a better book to start my journey into healthy smoothies. I am a complete novice and this book addressed all the questions I had and questions I didn't know to ask. The book was well organized and very thorough as a "smoothie 101" instruction book. The author did an excellent job of explaining how to get started, why smoothies are healthy for you, what to shop for, how to prepare and store your ingredients, how to select recipes and make adjustments if you make a mistake. The material was presented in a light hearted way and included very valuable information without making it feel really structured. She makes it sound fun to experiment and not be critical of yourself if your smoothie isn't PERFECT.....just keep trying. Anyway I really enjoyed the book and look forward to putting her methods into practice. This will be a great reference book to rely on until I become proficient. Can't wait to get started

Whether you are an old hand or just learning about smoothies this book is for you! This book is totally unpretentious with loads of good information to help you start or amp up your smoothie Journey! I bought this book and since the day it arrived my husband and I have been enjoying wonderful smoothies everyday using suggestions from this book as well as a few of the recipes. Before we knew it we were creating new things! It inspired me to create a Smoothie Bar in my new home and I can't wait to wake up each morning and find out what new adventure we're going to be on today! There are tips on how to walk yourself into healthier smoothies even if you're not sure that you're going to like all the things. This I feel is invaluable! Do yourself a favor and by this book! You won't be sorry.

I purchased this book over a year ago, because I tend to do a lot of veggie/protein powder smoothies (I have one at least every day post work out), and I tend to get bored pretty easily, so I like to try a variety of different things, though I do have a few favorite concoctions I make regularly. None of them are from this book, but overall I did like most of the recipes in here.

So for me, because I strength train, and I have a pretty high activity level, and I'm a vegetarian, I added protein powder to everything I tried. I also reduced fruit amounts on many of them, because some of them contain more then my recommended daily allowance of fruit, and I also lowered fat content on some of them, because I have to be more careful about the amount of fat I consume for health reasons. Some of these I actually really liked, and even my sweet veggie smoothie averse hubby enjoyed some of them. Some of the ones I tried I can unfortunately honestly say I would never make them again, for myself or others. I think this book does a good job of incorporating a fair number of veggie recipes that are palatable, but some of that may be a matter of preference. I have a harder time with most recipes that incorporate parsley, and there is a decent number of those in this book. I have made a fair number of the recipes in here, and I do think it could be a good resource for you, but you may need to modify them as I did to meet any special dietary guidelines you have to follow.

I can't figure out why this book is so much better

I can't figure out why this book is so much better than other smoothie books I've seen, but I am loving this book. The smoothies are so easy to make, don't require a ton of ingredients, and are so healthy. I love how she doesn't use dairy but is still able to produce thick "smooth" smoothies. Her writing style makes this a very easy read. I had no idea you could freeze avocados! She has great tips and I feel like I don't have to buy a bunch of weird ingredients or fill my blender all the way to to top with random ingredients to render a great smoothie. She also adds spices to some of her recipes which is something I hadn't really thought of (aside from adding fresh herbs, vanilla or cinnamon). I'm not a super novice smoothie maker, but I'm definitely not super experienced either. Sometimes making smoothies can be a little overwhelming because I think it's easy to get in a rut and get bored with the ingredients (and I'm not creative enough to think them up on my own). She offers such variety that I don't think that would happen. And I love that she labels them (such as Green Lover, Meal Replacement, Low Fruit, etc.) Oftentimes I'm looking to make a smoothie as a meal replacement so I can find those quickly without reading through all the ingredients. Love love love this book! ;)

Many of the recipes look great. My issue is that so many of the smoothies are relatively high in carbs. If you’re someone that needs to be under 20 g carbs a day... you may not be able to actually eat a lot more. I fixed that by cutting the recipe (one single serving!) in half... and use the smoothie as a “side” to a small meal of protein, fat and 0 carbs. Another issue is that several recipes ask for WHOLE MILK... which is not keto-friendly!!! I fixed that problem by switching to unsweetened coconut or almond milk

For a great many people who are harried by the buzzing about that we call life, they as a rule penance their eating routine and wellbeing in view of the burden of cooking and setting up their very own nourishment—and even in view of cleaning the outcome of cooking. Also, above all else the fixings are healthy, solid, nutritious, and packs a ton of flavor. The absolute best book for finding out about the exceptionally energizing Healthy Keto Smoothies and Shakes Cookbook way! It actually spared my life and spared my wellbeing! This book is suggested. Fantastic! this thing of the book is very much orchestrated Delicious Ketogenic Diet Smoothies! this book from a companion of mine. I particularly like the methodology

This is a very useful diet book.Inside this book you will find many different ketogenic diet ideas broken down into easy to read and understand chapters, each of which contains a complete breakdown of the steps that need to be followed in order to create a great eating habit and lose weight at the same time. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the ketogenic life style.

losts of fresh idea

Smoothies don't have to be that difficult - I am typically a "throw whatever's in the fridge in the blender" person. But for those days that you want to be a little more deliberate about what goes in your smoothie, this is a wonderful guide with some fresh ideas. Who knew that celery would become my new go-to smoothie ingredient?

Very informative great book for the new smoothie drinker/maker and a lot of good recipes for those smooth operators who have been looking for new recipes. Ms. Brock breaks down the individual ingredients and puts everything in layman's terms so even the newest of us can understand the whys and why nots.

A retired friend on the West coast said she and he

A retired friend on the West coast said she and her husband are attempting to live a healthier lifestyle - eat better etc. So I decided to send her this. Simple, tasty, healthy. Her 15 yr old granddaughter saw it and immediately asked for post-its to mark what SHE wanted to try! They're in the process of finding the ingredients and trying them. Interesting, some are "meal" substitutes. I bought one for myself, and my daughter's family.

I just got this book today and already can't put it down. So well written and speaks to the heart. I have been a blender since I first bought my Vitamix. I was a guilt-ridden juicer before that trying hard tp find ways to use that beautiful fiber! The Vitamix was oneofmy best purchases! Although it came with a recipe book of its own, this book speaks to the love of juicing and the effects of it on your health. I can't wait to try some recipes as I am in a rut!!

Fantastic!

Fantastic! Farnoosh breaks down all the content so nicely that it is easy to interpret. Also, it makes it easier to shop and to get excited about turning your life around for the better. I was a juicer for years when it was not popular. Now with all the exciting resources available in the form of books and blenders, I returned to it. And, I am having a ball getting my health back! If you really want to experience positive change in your life, explore juicing. And buy this book to help you build a solid foundation. The recipes are easy as well as tasty and dense with nutrients. Love it!

Love this book!

Love this book! For those of us just starting out, she explains every part of the smoothie, the nutritional value and taste of each fruit or veggie and how to prepare everything in minimal time. The second half is full of wonderful recipes. I love that she does not include dairy in any recipe and also that she empowers you through knowledge to create your own concoction

One of the best smoothie books out,

One of the best smoothie books out, its simple to make and it tastes really good (haven't tryed them all but so far so good). Its good for your health and can bring your energy up. other books like this fail in comparison because alot off them ask for weird ingredients some in which i never heard off. this book i never came across that problem. For the price you cant beat especially when it comes to your health and well-being.

I'm only 15 percent into the book and I'm hooked already! I've read many books about smoothies and their health benefits but this one is truly interesting, informative and the author does an amazing job of giving the reader information and details needed to start a life changing and healthy journey into the world of smoothies. This book contains MUCH more than recipes - the time and effort the author put into this "Smoothie Bible " is apparent and I highly recommend it.
