Not good value for money

The book provides a couple of good ideas, more inspiration than knowledge.

Some chapters repeat themselves to the point where you start wondering whether the book was edited before being released.

At points I found the level of “eco-friendly” baloney offensive; I bought a gardening book I don’t need suggestions that I should mend my socks (really it has a full chapter on mending your socks and other “tips”). Unscientific claims on “organic” food’s properties are also upsetting.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend unless you have plenty of un-used credits like I did.

Disappointed

I love to gather ideas and I love to garden. I expected to love this book. However, I didn't learn anything new and the narrator grated on my nerves. The narrator obviously doesn't garden and even mispronounced words like potash. I kept having to remind myself that the author knew much more about the subject than the narrator. If you're totally new to gardening, you'll learn a lot. However, I only gleaned one new idea, and I can't remember what it was at the moment. I definitely won't waste my time listening to this one again. There are so many better books on the market, though not yet available on Audible. I'll stick to reading my print gardening books for a while longer.

Keeping your garden alive and vibrant

Would you consider the audio edition of Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1 to be better than the print version?

Yes I would. I liked how while the book is being read to you, you could be IN your garden visualizing what is being said and trying to make actual connections from what you are learning and applying it to what you will do.

What other book might you compare Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1 to and why?

Gardening 101 by Martha Stewart. She goes over the basics that most people might skip over like making sure the soil is actually ready to have a plant so it stays alive instead of dies in a few weeks. Making sure there are the right nutrients for the specific plant, and correct amount of humidity, water, and sunlight.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Gardening made simple.

Must Have for Urbanites

Many years ago I bought my father an Earth Box and he loved it! It's a small container for gardening and it helps fruits and veggies grow like wildfire!

This audiobook has made me even more interested in gardening here in my urban apartment! I really enjoyed the wide variety of tips that Joy Louis offered and I can't wait to try them out!! Stacy Wilson does a phenomenal job and Joy's information is rich and very helpful.

Pick this one up, today!

Worth buying - great audiobook!

What made the experience of listening to Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1 the most enjoyable?

This audiobook clarified all I needed to know about gardening and I learned how to keep it simple and easy. There are also some great tips that save time, money, and unnecessary hassles. It is for both beginners and advanced gardeners, while it has a lot of information it is structured in a way that makes it really easy to listen and understand. I highly recommend it to anyone, because you can't beat this price and get so many useful info about gardening.

Redundant

This book is five books in one but it is just the same basic material over and over. In my opinion, the gal's voice that is reading it is very irritating to me. I am a novice gardener and I learned nothing from this book.

Gardening as a hobby

Would you listen to Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1 again? Why?

My home is located in an urban area and there is not much space for gardening so I got this book mostly because of urban homesteading guide. Thanks to this book I have realized how gardening can be fun and definitely can be done as a hobby. The author did an awesome job and included tips from planning your garden to its execution and I will definitely try to apply all the given steps. Thanks for this book!

An Excellent Gardening Compilation

I really liked how comprehensive this book is. It covers things from the root, so to speak. The basics and 101 of being a successful gardener, and it's also very useful for more experienced gardeners. It truly is educational, I learned a lot about soil, planting and how not to weaken your plants, which are the areas I struggle in.

The narrator does an excellent job of reading clearly and evenly. Directions are easy to follow. I highly recommend this book for help and support with your gardening.

It's everything I need to know about gardening!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, I love gardening and I didn’t realize I’m doing it all wrong! I'm surprised to found out why my plants are actually dying. I'm glad I've listened to this audiobook. It gave me awesome ideas to help me grow my plants healthy.

Any additional comments?

I'm giving this audiobook a 5-stars rating. I've learned so much about gardening-- from choosing the right containers, to watering and choosing the right fertilizers. Now I can make my own compost too, and control all the weed and pest in my own little garden.

More of a social commentary than a gardening book

What would have made Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1 better?

This book would be better if it was actually about gardening and not 1/3 social commentary, 1/3 about gardening and 1/3 on rehashing the points made in the social commentary section (Urban Renewal).

Would you ever listen to anything by Joy Louis again?

Probably not.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Stacy Wilson?

Zach McLarty or Max Bloomquist

What character would you cut from Ultimate Gardening Book: 5 Gardening Books in 1?

I would just burn the book if it was not on my phone.

Any additional comments?

This book was poorly composed and proof read. I was expecting an in depth work on gardening. This work was in NO WAY an ultimate guide to gardening. It was very superficial and redundant. The work may be suitable for somebody with NO gardening experience but even for me with very little experience, I was under impressed and starving for information. The diatribes on going green were unnecessarily repeated in nearly every single 71 chapters of the work! I am sad to say that I have read many poorly composed works on Audible that I simply returned without leaving bad review on. This work was so astonishingly bad I not only returned it, I had to write a honest review to warn potential customers.
