Summary

Learn the scientific benefits of positivism!

Sometimes it's easiest to look for the worst in every situation - our brains have evolved to scan for problems in order to help avoid them. But you can transcend this natural negativity - if you know how.

The Science of Positivity teaches you how cynical thought habits are formed and how you can rewire yourself to go beyond them. Neurochemical expert Loretta Graziano Breuning, PhD, empowers you to transcend negativity by creating new thought habits. You'll learn simple, practical actions you can take to shift your thinking to a way that causes your brain to reward optimism with the release of happy chemicals. You can even permanently replace cynical thought patterns with realistic and optimistic thoughts.

In just minutes a day for six weeks, you will build new pathways to see the world in new ways. Frustration is an inevitable part of life, but rather than using cynicism to manage frustration, you can rewire your brain to get beyond it.

Dreadful. Read by a robot and is hard to follow

Struggled to get past first chapter. Sounds like it's read by a robot. Not at all easy to follow

Better Options out there

Overall I found this a poor experience. The information is there but almost over simplified. if you're interested in this stuff, check out the Huberman Lab podcast. Talks about how it works, the current literature and its impact.

I found myself bored and annoyed at this and stopped listening. 1.5 stars out of 5

Eye opening

The Science of Positivity opened my eyes how human brain works and where negativity comes from. Thanks to this book I understood my own thinking patterns and I stopped judging myself and others for this what we are.

Great book, bad narration.

The information this book provides is exceptional but the narration is robotic and dull, I struggle to stay focused on the audio or even enjoy the book. If this is a book you are interested in I recommend reading it rather than listening to it as the poor narration my ruin the experience or reduce the knowledge to be gain from this incredibly insightful book.

robot narrator

couldn't listen to it because the narration is so painfully robotic. I seriously wonder if it was Microsoft narrator in some places but then at others it sounds very human. very curious
