Summary

The basis for the wonderfully funny and moving TV series developed by Amy Poehler

Döstädning, or the art of death cleaning, is a Swedish phenomenon by which the elderly and their families set their affairs in order. Whether it's sorting the family heirlooms from the junk, downsizing to a smaller place, or setting up a system to help you stop misplacing your keys, death cleaning gives us the chance to make the later years of our lives as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Whatever your age, Swedish death cleaning can be used to help you de-clutter your life, and take stock of what's important.

Margareta Magnusson has death cleaned for herself and for many others. Radical and joyous, her guide is an invigorating, touching and surprising process that can help you or someone you love immeasurably, and offers the chance to celebrate and reflect on all the tiny joys that make up a long life along the way.

Good reader, disappointing content.

Couldn't finish it. Although I tried my best, getting 3/4 way through.
Ultimately I found it rambled way too much. Perfect example is the chapter that went into detail about recipes, ingredient by ingredient. Maybe I misunderstood the objective of the book, but ultimately didn't find much value in it.

Charming

What a charming book this was to listen to with many light hearted moments and anecdotal stories as well as good sound advice and encouragement. Very useful too because I have had the feeling to death clean for some time now but have not got very far. This book will spur me on! Beautifully read by Juliet Stevenson.

A lovely book

Such a lovely book, really helpful, encouraging and inspiring. It makes a difficult subject seem manageable. And the narration by Juliet Stevenson is a treat, I highly recommend this.

Practical, inspiring and not at all depressing

This book is full of charm, even more so because the author lends us her experiences of 80+ years. It took me a while to get around to writing this review... I've been cleaning, and it feels great!

Everyone should listen to this wonderful little book.

Narrated by Juliet Stevenson, one of the best readers in the business so a delight to listen to, and I bet she loved reading this fabulous little gem as much as I did.
There are many such “downsizing” self-help books out there but this is a beautifully succinct and warm, but superbly practical guide, and it really inspired me not only to think about why it’s a good idea to de-clutter my house, but also made me want to make a start on it immediately. I highly recommend this audiobook, the author is a lovely woman who will inspire you, make you re-think your priorities, and make you feel better about the world. What more could anyone want. Enjoy.

So good I listened to it twice.

If you are now a grandparent or a great aunt, this is a book worth listening to. Excellent narration too by Juliet Stevenson.. It encourages the reader to do what the author, is still doing herself and why. It is not prescriptive, but it is
