Best-selling author Larry Crabb cuts to the heart of the biblical view of marriage: the "one-flesh" relationship. He argues convincingly that the deepest needs of human personality - security and significance - ultimately cannot be satisfied by a marriage partner. We need to turn to the Lord, rather than our spouse, to satisfy our needs. This frees both partners for "soul oneness", a commitment to minister to our spouse's needs rather than manipulating them to meet our own needs. With "soul oneness" comes renewed "body oneness", where couples enjoy sexual pleasure as an expression and outgrowth of a personal relationship.
Marriage Builder also identifies three building blocks essential to constructing marriage: the grace of God, true marriage commitment, and acceptance of one's mate. Discussion questions are included to aid couples who want to dig into it and apply the principles to their own lives and marriages. Marriage Builder is for anyone who longs to transform marriage from trial to triumph.
This book is a very practical 204 Christian marriages. It helps us to see how in our marriages we try to manipulate to get what we want instead of trying to minister to our spouse. our goal in marriage should always be ministry and not manipulation because manipulation is soon. A great and excellent book a must read for every married couple.
I have 27 books on my bookshelf on Christian marriage and relationships. This is the best, by far. The answers he offers are the only ones based totally on biblical references and principles. It changed everything I thought about marriage.

I have read several books on marriage and none have a gotten straight to the point and the root of the problem as quickly and as clearly as this book. I highly recommend.
It is a great book I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their relationship. Even if you are not married.
When you are complete in Christ, it frees up your mental and spiritual resources so that you can direct them more easily and with a certain amount of pleasure. The problem many spouses have (including myself,) is a commitment to manipulate my partner to extract completeness out of them, rather than relying on a sound relationship with God for my completeness, and using that completeness to minister to them.
Larry Crabb is a boss, as the kids would say. Here we have a psychotherapist who has thought for himself, searched these things out in prayer, and used the empirical method of examining his own patients to draw conclusions, rather than just taking as valid the most immediate general consensus.
The family is the beginning and end of life, it is of the utmost importance, and the family cannot get right until the marriages get right, so take a minute and buy this book. I highly recommend this book, and this author.
this was not a casual read for me. As I listened I realized the depth of the contents. This has led me to re- listen with a note pad and pen. Thank you for the spiritual enlightenment that will certainly help me with my marriage .
narration is a bit rough but content is wonderful. Very good explanation of man and women's perspective.
