"A little over the top for me."

It lives up to its title, but is a little over the top for me. By everything he means dead goats heads, urine and human feces. I like composting but.......

    "Not just for beginners"

Will provoke thought for both newbies and old hands. And it's fun to listen to.
I have composted a truckload a week for six years to build soil for my market garden. I sell some produce to restaurants. And I have read several books about composting, learned from this book. A number of times, I had to pause the book because he got me thinking. And I love his "just do it" attitude.

"The author is clearly not an expert"
What would have made Compost Everything: The Good Guide to Extreme Composting better?

In the beginning of the audiobook, the author states that he has read thousands of pages of scientific articles about composting. What follows throughout the book is not very scientfic, what i heard was mostly a list of anecdotes of himself and the limited group of people he has interacted with. Some real malarkey ensues when he starts blaming monsanto for killing his garden. He seems to be very impatient and thinks good compost happens in a few months where in my opinion, it just begins to become usable in 18 months. He quotes other authors and experts without ever saying whether he ever tried any of it himself. He recites long sections of other peoples books.I doubt the author has much or any experience just doing a basic rotating 3 pile design that most people I know use. Instead, he fusses around with digging 3 foot deep holes and naming them melon pits. Not cute, not funnyWhat the hell is a food forest? It seems the author is in a permaculture clique where he assumes the audible listener knows what the hell he is talking about. He is adverse to using the normal accepted terminology like perennial garden or tree crops. Very annoyingHe states "a law" at the end of the book where its not possible to make "enough" compost. Well if you are restricted by his fussy pseudoscientific rules, I suppose that can be true.Call yourself an expert and sell a crappy book. Shame on you

    "A bit of a tease?"

I really enjoyed this book, however future listeners should note that this is inspiration rather than instruction. Which is fine.
I found myself constantly reaching for a pen, anticipating a mega revelation, only to have the subject change or an anecdote follow.
Perhaps I'm too stingy with my rating; I have re listened to this book multiple times.

    "Good overview of composting options"

The author makes a good effort to make composting seem attainable no matter your preferred level of complexity. He provides an overview of a lot of options, and spices the book up with some amusing stories.
Overall, a good book for anyone new to composting and organic gardening.
