About this listen

Renowned marine adventurer Dirk Pitt returns to stem a toxic outbreak.

While investigating a toxic outbreak in the Caribbean Sea that may ultimately threaten the United States, Pitt unwittingly becomes involved in something even more dangerous - a post-Castro power struggle for the control of Cuba.

Meanwhile, Pitt's children, marine engineer Dirk and oceanographer Summer, are on an investigation of their own, chasing an Aztec stone that may reveal the whereabouts of a vast historical Aztec treasure. The problem is, that stone was believed to have been destroyed on the battleship Maine in Havana Harbor in 1898, which brings the pair both to Cuba as well - and squarely into harm's way.

Pitt father, son and daughter have been in desperate situations before . . . but perhaps never quite as dire as the one facing them now.

Dirk Pitt returns in Havana Storm, a thrilling novel from the grandmaster of adventure and No.1 New York Times bestselling author, Clive Cussler.

Would you consider the audio edition of Havana Storm to be better than the print version?

This is a tricky question, while reading books allows your imagination to breathe life into the story, an audio book lets you get swept up the rollercoster of an exciting tale, so they are both similar yet different experiences. I think I preferred listening to this one...

What did you like best about this story?

This is a great book, which I enjoyed a lot. Cussler's passion and knowledge about his own research and diving experiences shines through and makes the story more authentic and all the better for it.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favourite?

The main characters: Dirk and Summer his sister. I loved the way when their lives were threaten their bond as siblings came to the surface.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"Havana Storm" - Below the surface - Clive and Dirk Cusslers' greatest novel now on the big screen.

A Cracking Yarn!

Although a great read, with a potted history about the Incas, the storyline has been repeated again. Seemingly since Dirk Cussler took over from his father, the plots seem identical, with team Pitt making all the same mistakes, and never seemingly to be learn from them! The nationality of the enemy may change, but they all sneak up on NUMA boats at night and capture it easily, even though this happens seemingly all the time!! Smh!

A great story well read.
