About this listen

Die Erzählung Hastenbeck erschien erstmalig im Jahr 1898. Sie ist die letzte Prosaarbeit des Autors Wilhelm Raabe. Hastenbeck handelt von dem Schweizer Balthasar Uttenberger, einem Hauptmann aus dem französischen Regiment und der Söldnerwitwe Wackerhahn, die nur die "Wackerhahnsche“ genannt wird. Sie retten das Leben des jungen Desserteurs und Porzellanmalers Leopold "Pold“ Wille. Die Pastorentochter Immeke ist in Pold verliebt. Ihre Mutter möchte jedoch, dass den Pastor Störenfreden aus dem Nachbarort heiratet. Nach vielen Umwegen kommt es zu einem Happy-End und Immeke bekommt ihren Pold.

Wilhelm Raabe (1831 - 1910) gehört zu den bekanntesten Vertretern des poetischen Realismus. Er brachte eine ganze Reihe von gesellschaftskritischen Erzählungen und Romanen heraus.
