Hallowed Be Thy Name Harry Potter!
This book marks the end of a long journey for anyone who has followed Harry, Ron, Hermione and the others through their school years at Hogwarts. During this journey there have been magical moments of high drama, genuine warmth and of course no little humour. As the books have progressed however it’s become more real, more edgy and increasingly tense. The challenge for JK Rowling with the Deathly Hallows was whether she could tie it all up and give this impressive series a satisfying conclusion.
Well, to cut what is a long story short she did just that. For anyone that doesn’t know the stories I’ll include no real spoilers but this is a story of its own with twists, turns and mysteries to be solved. Rowling has Harry and the reader questioning the motives and natures of many of the characters and much is kept hanging until very near the end. Her patience in building the back story over the previous books brings rich rewards in terms of several eyebrow raising moments. Highlights for me include the climactic battle including the way in which it is resolved and blessedly redemption for my favourite character in all of the books. The author spends a long time developing the story and this is a bleaker book than the ones that have gone before but no less satisfying for all that. This is, after all, the wizarding world at war, casualties had to be expected!
Stephen Fry brings it all to our ears with consummate professionalism and genuine empathy meaning that I can happily say goodbye to the Potter stories content that I’ve now completed one of modern literature’s great adventures.

The most fantastic audiobook
I loved the films, reading books, studio tour and most recently seen the play. But, my best Harry Potter experience has been listening to Stephen Fry reading JK Rowling's fantastic story. Addictive listening. Beyond brilliant. Stephen Fry is a master narrator and I would like to say THANK YOU.

Fantastic
Any additional comments?
I've listened to the entire series and this was a great conclusion.
I'd never read the books before, only seen the films.
Apart from the cop-out epilogue, I thought it was great definitely worth a listen.
Stephen Fry is fantastic.

Wonderful
Great conclusion to the series wonderfully performed by Stephen Fry. The narration, characterisation and pacing were excellent and really brought the story alive. I've read all seven of the Potter books but this audio version really added something extra - I noticed things I hadn't seen when reading. A definite plus factor in the performance.

The final part
This final episode of the Harry Potter series sees Harry leave school. The story cleverly links through elements of the previous stories. Listening to this audiobook takes hold of your imagination - much better than seeing the films - more detail - greater suspense and more vivid characters. - Great.

Faultless Narration
What did you like most about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Book 7?
Stephen Fry's narration is perfect and brings every character to life in his own magical way.
What did you like best about this story?
Being the final book in the series it brings together all the characters and adventures well to a thankful happy conclusion. Whilst this is pure fantasy and imagination the realism of life is apparent in JK's writing as she touches upon sadness in the loss of loved ones.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I loved the crazy aunt at the wedding, I'm sure most adults listening to the book will relate to it!
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The film is already made - but thank goodness for books and imagination!

Oh Boy!
I love this book so much, there's so much going on in it, so much to learn and digest. The darkness that started a few books ago really comes to the fore in this, not just to do with Voldemort but internal mental darkness. The characters all do so much growing up in this book. I could go on and on but I won't, always....
